EcoQuest
International is a company that formed
after the fallout of Alpine Technologies.
Alpine manufactured and sold air purifying
products, yet they insisted on making
unsubstantiated claims about the health and
curative benefits of their machines.
This behavior led to many lawsuits with the
FTC, which Alpine subsequently lost.
Thus, EcoQuest International took over
marketing operations for Alpine and rebuilt
the company image. EcoQuest
International is a Christian based firm that
is dedicated to spreading clean air, water,
and energy efficiency to folks all over the
world.
EcoQuest International markets and
distributes its products both through retail
and network marketing. Last time I
checked EcoQuest International had over a
hundred thousand dealers worldwide.
Even though their products are selling
well there are still major discrepancies
about their effects and physical
capabilities. This was the issue of
the court battle between the FTC and
EcoQuest International.
In a surprise move EcoQuest International
countersued the FTC for harassing the
company. In the end EcoQuest
International was forced to pay 1.49 million
in damages for false claims.
Eventually, EcoQuest International
products had to be issued with a warning
label that results are based on individual
environmental conditions. It also said
that the scientific results on the products
were not conclusive as far as their benefits
are concerned.
Furthermore, in the wake of the court
hearings the California Environmental
Protection Agency began looking into Ozone
emitting air purifiers, such as the ones
distributed by EcoQuest International.
Their findings were very revealing.
They found that: ozone generators are
ineffective at cleaning indoor air, do not
remove indoor pollutants, and do not
eliminate airborne microbes.
More importantly the CALEPA found that
they do :Increase levels of Aldehydes, ultra
fine PM, and other pollutants, deaden sense
of smell, have no regulatory authority to
control ozone emissions, target vulnerable
populations, and are counter productive in
reducing outdoor ozone levels.
As of May 5, 2006 EcoQuest: Fresh Air,
Living Air Classic, Breeze AT, Flaire, and
Fresh Air to go are all listed on the CALEPA
website as Hazardous Ozone Generators Sold
as Air Purifiers.
EcoQuest International has argued against
these findings claiming that they are
abiding by federal regulations. They
also have said that the potentially unsafe
conditions only occur in the setting
designed for unoccupied rooms. They
have also begun to switch to ionizing air
purifiers that pose no threat, yet they
still carry the ozone products.
I would recommend thoroughly researching
EcoQuest International products, outside of
the provided distributor literature, especially
before selling them to friends and family.

I always find it interesting the comments people have about Ecoquest, however they are most always opinions and not facts that are perhaps because of not meeting expectations. Ecoquest never claims to be perfect and they have always strived to make things better. As far as the creditability for those that are doing there research please review the below resources, yes most are on the Ecoquest website, however the creditability is from outside sources. To date they are the only homebased business that is registered with the bbbonline (Ecoquest, Greeneville,TN) that I know of please tell me if you know different

I did something most will not do when I first saw this product. I ask the guy if I could rent his machine for a month. If I liked it I would buy it. After 1 week of it running in my home we noticed some interesting things, alot of dust After 2 weeks We slept better, The 3rd week We didn't have to worry about dust allergies, We loved that a cat smell we couldn't get rid of was gone. Needless to say we bought not only that one but 6 more(we became distributors). We placed one in the school class room of my daughter for the school year. The teacher found after a short time she felt much better she also noticed grades going up. Parents were calling wanting to try out machines. the teacher and 9 parents bought and loved what it did for their home. I am not here to tell you their marketing plan is the best, but the product does work. I am a firm believer in that. We sold a lot of machines in homes and business and always were checking back with our customers we had a few(4)that were not happ... read more»

The technologies that this company has are excellent. Hands down to any other air purifier on the market today. I have had the air purifier in my home well over 5 years and I have never had a problem and have updated my machine also. The new technology and updates that their company is coming out with are even better than before. As for losing money as a distributor, no one makes anyone lose anything. One chooses to spend or not to spend as in any network marketing or MLM. We are responsible for what we do or don't do in any business. This company can in no way be compared to Amway. Belief me, I attempted Amway and I don't like to anounce that mistake too often. I am not a distributor of this company but maybe I should be. As in any sucessful company there is always going to be pitfalls as in our own lives. It is how we overcome those pitfalls that really matter and Ecoquest has truly overcome! Good Luck to you all!

The product is very good, but the business is a scam, the company owns everything that you need to make it in the business, charging you hundreds and hundreds of dollars to sell there purifiers. It costs way too much money to make it and it is just like amway, don't let them tell you any different!

Lost our shirt with this business, products are always breaking down. Don't recommend it, the "opportunity" that is. They are not fond of gays either.
The products do work for some people, but that's when they work.

Hello Evelyn, As someone who has really seen this technology work time and time again, I would definitely call EcoQuest again. This is an awesome company with amazing values and I am convinced that you will get what you need. I feel like maybe the email either got lost or wasn't sent as an error and was not done intentionally. Please know I have seen many people helped in many different ways by this technology and feel that I know this company well enough to to know that they would never sell anything that would harm anyone in any way...God Bless and thanks.

Dear Mr. Albright We purchased an EcoQuest ozone producing air cleaner three years ago. After reading the Consumers Report on the dangers of these Ozone producing machines I called the company customer service department and Tasha said she would email me a report which would show these ozone emissions are not any danger. Needless to say, I never received this report. She also seemed to not be concerned that my husband, who has asbestoses, might have had more damage than good from being exposed to the ozone. She more or less told me that EcoQuest does not deal with the customer and I should get in touch with the distributor who sold us the machine. Do you have any advise for how we should proceed with this. problem? thanks.
