I was contacted by a Mr. Anderson of the UK to be an aupair for his 2 children (I never knew ages or so) and told me to contact GTI to work out my papers with a payment via Western Union of 850 pounds. We spoke little over the phone (He resisted at first) only to tell me to conect to msn. There he agreed to pay 350 pounds and since there he would only push me to make the deposit. the offer was very tempting (5000 pounds a month) but I started doubting and I searched for information about the address and so. Fortunately I found a lot of testimonies that its all a scam! thank you. |

I am a Nanny and have been contacted by many people in the past few weeks wanting a nanny for their children. Quite a few of them have been using GTI as their travel agents and I am so glad I found this site or I may have been in big trouble. I noticed another person has written about a Dr Garry at 3 West Hampstead 224 Iverson Road in UK. I also received an email from him and once I asked if I could organise my own travel docs, not use their Agency, I didn't hear from him again. Am so glad I am not the only one receiving all these scams and think it's great that you can put the owrd out there like this to warn others. |

Um. There seems to be some confusion here caused by a lack of understanding or somthing.
The review is for a travel agency, not a Nanny or Au Pair placement.
If you have worked with Global Travel International as a referral travel agent, please leave a comment.
If not, then please read the review. Does it look like it's about freakin' nanny service.
Probably some UK grifting outfit has the same name. GTI is in Florida, United States of America, not England or the UK. |

For anyone considering becoming an Au Pair/Nanny with ANY agency, or ANY website on the internet, PLEASE *do your research!!* In two weeks from now, I'll be stepping on a plane for the other side of the world, to Au Pair for a wonderful family. And I will be doing so with COMPLETE confidence and assurance in my safety and wellbeing. Why?
-I sold myself high. I made sure that potential families knew, upfront, that I was worth being paid a good, fair salary.
-I didn't take the first offer. I'm not desperate, and so I made sure to choose a family that truly fit my experience and lifestyle.
-I did THOROUGH background checks. I asked for references from their previous nannies, and spoke in depth with them. I also did thorough research on the references, and made certain that they were who they said they were.
-I spoke and met "face to face" via Skype with the family before I ever committed. It's not foolproof, but it's doubtful someone is going to be willing to have a 30 minute video-chat with you if they're only trying to scam a couple hundred dollars from you.
- I NEVER PAID ANYTHING!!! This is the most important! Aside from having to pay for my own health checkup and Background report ($30, payed to my local police station), I was never asked to pay anything to any agency, or anyone else.
__
Ladies (and guys!),
You're worth much more than this. If it feels like it's a scam, it probably is. There WILL be other opportunities, remember that. It may take time, but waiting for the *right* family to come along is much better than rushing ahead, and getting scammed. Google is your friend. Use it. Do your research ahead of time, and you'll feel much more confidant about stepping onto that plane, and into your next adventure!
Good luck! |

Dear AnoIznairah,
As I said in my first comment. Global Travel International can only be a scam and I'm glad you didn't send them any money, because you would never have heard from them again.
They should have called themselves Global International Travel and instead of GTI they could have been known as GIT, because that's what they are, GITS, for trying to rob trusting people like yourself out of hard earned money in the hope for a better life. It would appear that they would get up to any scam going, as long as they can relieve people of money for a broken promise.
By the way, it's Dr.Garry living in Iverson Road now and not Mr. Reinhart, according to these thieves. I wonder what other names they have dreamed up in order to steal money from people.
Keep me posted, because I would like to know what these crooks are up to.
Kindest Regards,
Geoff. |

In connection to my inquiry this morning dated Dec. 14, 2008, re: address of my employer, Mr. Robert Reinhart, a friend of mine who is living in Kensington St. helped me in locating the said address: 3 Hampstead West, 224 Iverson Road, London NW6 2HX. Well, the address is exact BUT this home address which was given to me by Mr. Robert Reinhart as HIS home address actually belongs to Mr. John Sandy, a british national and according to my friend, that he havent met Mr. Reinhart in all his life. Since Global Travel International was referred by Mr. Reinhart to facilitate the necessary documents for me to go UK and have the job being offerred by Mr. Reinhart as his kids' auper/nanny,with bogus home address, does it mean that this transaction is a lead that this Larry Smith, manager of Global Travel International in Uk is also a scam? The address he gave me where I could send the money in the amount of 150pounds under his name is 59 Southey Court, Penton, Manchester, UK M34 7WX. I am opted to send the money but I am really in doubt as to its legality. In fact, Mr. Reinhart asked me this morning why I am still doubting his dignity and integrity since he had told me already that everything is going fine but I replied that I had been researching on this column about the scams of Global Travel International in UK and the infos were very shocking indeed and I have every right to be clarified who my employer is so I will have peace of mind when I go to UK. Moreso, even the presidents of the US have their biographies written all over how much more for my employer whom I will be living with and with bogus address? Pls. help me. Any reliable information from the readers is highly appreciated. Thank you |
Iznairah Gloria S. Rosalia Negros Oriental | 9:52pm on Sunday, December 14th, 2008 |
A certain Mr. Robert Reinhart, wrote to me a letter that he's looking for an auper/nanny for his 2 kids and referred to me global travel Int'l to facilitate the papers for me. In an instant, Mr. Larry Smith, manager of global travel replied to process my papers within 5-7 days period and offerred 550pounds for the said processing of documents to be facilitated by globaltravel60@gmail.com. I told my employer that I cant pay the said amount n that will he pay for it against my salary? He said that he wont shoulder it all as he was also victimized by someone wherein he paid it all and went to other employer and asked me any amount I can share and he will cover the rest. I said that I can only afford 150 pounds. The following day, Mr. Larry Smith replied that Mr. Reinhart had paid 300 pounds to them via western Union and asked me how soon I can send my share. The following night, Mr. Reinhart called me n told me the same and that he will give the additional 100 pounds to global travel. Mr. Larry Smith gave me their address to be at 59 Southey Court, Penton, Manchester, UK, M34 7WX, I know for sure that this address is true bcos that will be where I am supposed to have the money transferred via western union. What I am asking is the authencity of this transaction. Mr. Reinhart also gave me his address to be at 3 Hampstead West, 224 Iverson Road, London NW6 2 HX. To erase my doubts. I hv even scanned to map of London and located the destination and I was given the routes to take. But, what bothers me was that in his first introductory letter, he said that he is from Manchester City which I asked him too and he said that he's currently working in Manchester City but his residence is in London. To get more information, I even sked for their pictures wherein Mr. Reinhard readilly complied but it was send separately, one pix of his 2 kids, his wife and himself. I asked for a family picture but he said he had a problem with his digi cam and that it's in there. He said that he's a scientist n Researcher and that his wife is a banker so both of them are busy. When I looked at the pictures, I'v observed that his wife looks like a filipina which I told him but didnt made any comment and when I asked about his nationality, he said that he just come from UK. that's all. What bothers me most was the anonymous letter dated 27 Nov stating the name of Tony Smith as the contact person , similar to Larry Smith as manager of said travel agency. I smell something fishy is going around here and I dont want to be victimized by any fraudulent act. Pls help me. I wanted so much to have a job but I want to clarify things first. |

I wanted to own my own online travel agency and get personal discounts on my own travel. Well GTI made several promises including that would a real travel agent ID card that could be used anywhere. Well that is not true. I got laughed and and one hotel GM told I was not a legal travel agent. In OK GTI must be registered with OK Securities Commission and approved before solicting to OK legal residents which I am. They are not registered and the authoritied in OK are looking at this. By law GTI is supposed to refund all money I have invested or paid. IATA states that GTI must pay all commissions in order to keep their status with IATA. As of today GTI has refused to pay commissions and refund any money. They have also taken more money from my checking account even though I cancelled and withdrew my authorization on 9-1-08. This is illegal to take money electronically from a US bank account. They only had my debit/ credit card not the actual account number. My bank is cooperating with me in recovering the money taken illegally after 9-1-08. I am in law school and I have 3 years from9-8-08 to take them to court to recover my losses. I plan to sue and if one of the owners is an attorney he should prepare to defend himself criminally also. |

I was an independent travel agent with global travel international for a year. My experience was great. I had to stop for a while because of personal issues. I'm actually looking into joining GTI again.
Now, like everything else, something that's good for me might not be good for you. |

I bought a Global “Platinum” membership two years ago, planning to use work primarily as a referral agent. Unfortunately, the home office at Global is terrible at customer service. It would often take weeks to get a solid answer when trying to design a trip for my customers and that was after multiple calls. Many of my customers who had been excited about coming to me, simply faded away.
I’m not sure if I would go as far as to say it was a scam. I was inexperienced at the time and didn’t know any better, however I will say it was a poor investment and I should have known better.
If you are interested in working the travel industry, either part or full time, I do recommend several weeks of research before you affiliate with any host agency. |

Well, you have to be your own advocate and cancel when you don't need them anymore. I have gone on plenty of trips and saved thousands of dollars. I even booked a cruise at half price for me and my wife through global. Guess it has worked for us. |
