Google Home Business Kit Review
Is the Google Kit a Scam...?
Recently there has been a wave of work at home programs all claiming that
they can show you how to make money from Google. They all sell a Google
Home Business Kit for a low shipping and handling fee from $1.99 - $3.88.
These programs consist of a CD, and a membership website that hosts the
courses. The lessons teach you how to use Google AdWords to place advertisements
for programs that you are an affiliate for.
They also advocate setting up fake blogs and websites to advertise the same
Google Kit that you just bought. You may have seen ads like these on
Facebook and MySpace. Don't be fooled by these and other sites claiming
that you can make money from these programs; any income they're receiving is
simply from referring more people to join these sites.
So Are These Google Biz Kits Scams...?
The catch with all these programs is that once you submit your billing info
to pay for the S&H you automatically agree to their membership program.
When you apply for the Google Home Business Kit you're also authorizing them to
charge you a membership fee of up to $70 a month.
This is why these Google Home Business Kits have been called out as serious
scams. Most people don't see the fine print which they have cleverly
hidden throughout their site. Then a month later they're shocked to see a
fee of $70 which they haven't authorized.
There have also been thousands of complaints made against these Google Kit
companies, by people who've been charged the monthly fees without even receiving
the CD's and membership info.
Now, the guys running these scams are not stupid and are obviously very good at
what they do. They've taken many measures to ensure that they can keep
operating their scams long term. This includes hiding their
websites' URLs and consistently changing the names of their programs.
This is what makes my job so difficult, it's almost impossible to keep up
with them. When one product is no longer selling they simply change the
name and viola they have a new Google Home Business Kit to sell. For
instance they've just switched the name to Google Money Master.
By the time there're enough complaints and articles exposing them they've
already moved on to a new name and website. I want to show you some
examples of these Google Kit sites which you should avoid, I'm also including a
long list of program names that they've used in the past along with a collection
of fake affiliate blogs that they use to promote them.
Examples of Earn Google Cash Sites to Beware of...
These websites were advertised through a series of fake blogs set up specifically to sell Google Biz Kits. Most were filled
with pictures of a young person, their big checks from Google, and fake comments towards the bottom.
Recently, these scammers have switched to using fake news paper articles to promote the Google BizKits. They often use names (and even logos) like the Los Angeles Times or ABC News and feature a top "story" of how you can make a fortune by simply purchasing one of these Google Kits. You should be wary of any such news articles as they're popping up everywhere.
Here's an example of these fake blog and news sites...
If you see an ad for one of these blogs or "newspapers" save yourself the time and don't
visit them, as they'll only redirect you to one of these Google Home Business
Kits.

However, if you look at the very bottom in the small print it gives you the chance to look at the 'terms' which thank God I did.
So now my question to everyone out there who is looking for a way to make an honest and decent living from home is ... does anyone know of a legitimate way to do this????? Not to sound stupid but has anyone discovered something that is legal and is willing to share it???? Probably not. I, like most people who are having difficulty making ends meet in these hard economic times, will have to do it the old fashioned way. It takes money to make money. Good Luck to everyone!!!! |
iri ma | 12:31pm on Friday, August 28th, 2009 | I went to this google biz kit site today and submitted to them all my personal info: Name , address, phone number. After that they ask me to order the kit for $1.97. At that point I became skeptical and decided to do more research before giving out my cc info. I tried to exit when a chat box popped up so I could talk to a rep. who offers shipping for $.99. I asked specific questions and her answers were generic. I even responded to the rep. that she was ignoring my questions and she replied with having limited answers. She gave me a phone # I could call. I then left the site. At this point I was highly doubtful. The fine print does state that other fees will be charged to your credit card after a certain trial period. That is what confirmed my skepticism. Since they now have my name and phone number, I suspect I'll get a phone call tomorrow asking for my cc info. Why can't google do something about this as their name is being used deceitfully? |
cindy brooks Location unknown | 12:05pm on Friday, August 28th, 2009 | I'm a little old lady who got google scam, they hide info so you dont see it, ordered the cd for 1.99 and they took all my money out of my bank, left me overdrawn on my account. i've been crying since trying to get them to please refund my money, i didn't authorize for them to do this, but they say when you order the cd , its in the fine print and terms . i pray to god that someone will help me and make them stop. |
Shar Ca | 10:40am on Friday, August 28th, 2009 | Hey, if you ever get caught up in a scam. 1st thing never use your credit card or ATM, always us a pre-paid card to do internet business, unless it's a well know site. YES- GOOGLE BIZ is a scam but they provide you with a down-load of material called "rush". DO NOT DO IT! I was suckered in by the "news article" and when I went back to read about it, I noticed the names were changed. I contacted the newspaper and they do not understand what I was talking about. BEWARE-USE PRE PAID CARDS ON THE INTERNET. |
Glad USA | 1:33am on Friday, August 28th, 2009 | I came across the Google Kit, and the ads does seem real. I even saw the ad you posted above.. the website of the different pages. I put in search terms Google kit and found this site(your site). You confirmed my suspicions. Thanks!! |
Ana Kissimmee, FL | 10:17pm on Thursday, August 27th, 2009 | I also was ready to sign up for the Kit and decided to do some investigating. Well, I fill out the online application, but did not give a cc. The next day, I received a phone call asking for a credit card. When I explained that I did not have a cc, they said "We can take a debit card". I again explained that I did not have a card and they said "I'm sorry, we can't help you". I haven't heard from them since. |
DD Texas | 9:44pm on Thursday, August 27th, 2009 | The Steadman's also live in Irving Texas!! Nice picture of whole family!. Said they had been unemployed for months and were now doing well with Google Money Master. signed up like an idiot and got an email in an hour from something called Alternative Funding saying I had signed up for a membership. I thought it was a mistake. Took down the 800# and tried calling several times. Took 10 days to get through to them. They refused to give a refund for the $29.95 charge until I advised I would be contacting the better business bureau. I have received the reversal of that fee. However, I just found out I have been charged another $29.95 fee from someone called Subscriber Bills and $69.95 from someone called WebFunProfits. All these charges were made in 18 days! Each of these supposed companies has a different 800#. But after calling each one I found they are all at the same call center. I was told by each rep that they bill for google and when you request the kit you are automatically signed up for the other memberships. How can they sign you up for memberships without your knowledge? I guess when you're SCAMMED they can do anything they want! Why can't they be stopped? I don't get it! I'm waiting to see if the other refunds actually materialize. I had to threaten the BB and fraud investigation to even get a Promise of a reversal of the charges. We'll see! |
Charlie Seattle | 11:13am on Thursday, August 27th, 2009 | I Googled "Goolge kit" before even clicking on the fake blog link I was anomalously sent in response to a CRAIGSLIST ad I had placed. (talk about phishing!!)
This site is typical of the "reviews" I saw. You can never be skeptical enough when ANYONE on the www wants to sell you something. I hope people eventually figure that out, but there will always be those gullible poor souls who think they found the magical solution to all their problems. Reality check - if there was a magical way to make money, no one would share it. If they did, everyone would be millionaires and the economy would collapse... it's that simple. |
wendy lagrange,oh | 10:25am on Thursday, August 27th, 2009 | yup!! i too was gonna click and buy, cuz Mary and Kevin also live in Elyria, Oh- just 10 miles north of me. thanks to post like these, we really need to do our homework, and like they say if it's to good to be true... |
Jim Michigan | 11:24pm on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | I filled out the form online except for my cc number. I just had a bad feeling so I closed the page. Someone called me the next morning at 9:00 asking me to sign up for the program. I told them I was no longer interested and hung up. They called me the next morning at 9:00 and asked me again to sign up. I told them again that I am no longer interested and to stop calling me. They will hound you over and over to give your cc info. At least I only gave them my cell number! |
Gracy Jackson Mobile | 5:30pm on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | I was taken by the advertisement of "can't beat a 1.97 investment. Well there was no indication of the 79.99 fee in any of the advertisement. There was a SPAM NO REPLY EMAIL telling me about the refund policy. Like I said there the email went to my spam mail. I did not find out until my debit card was charged on the 8th day, which was the day that 7-day cancellation ended. There should have been some communication in the original promotion that this is a 7day trail offer!!
The OLD SAYING IS RIGHT SOMETHING THAT SOUND TOO GOOD IS JUST THAT!!!! |
Heero Location unknown | 4:21pm on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | Like many gave my CC info out before having researched what they were hocking, thankfully all I am out is the 1.97 though, I did some more research on the program after receiving the confirmation e-mail from them and found out how it operates, called the cancel a few hours after setting up the account so as to not get hit with the high monthly fee. They are all 3rd party to free information, the "google adsense" works but not like they claim it works and profitability is only as high as the traffic to your personal business websites (for the average joe that is pretty low) |
Anna M. NY | 1:52pm on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | Omg! Thank GOD! i came across you.. I was about a minute away from signing up and a blog i read had me convinced but i still felt looking up how actually legit the site is couldn't hurt and im so glad i clicked your site first!! It saved me a TONE of money i cant really afford to lose right now and im forever greatful! ^_^ Next time i have a question about a scam i will come here first! =D
Thanks so much and good luck with those scamming bas***** >.> |
Noreen NC | 12:27pm on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | Mary & Kevin say they live in Lewisville, NC too.
I am thankful I found this web site before I went further.
What a shame for all the many people who are trying to find a way to make ends meet. Looks like us poor folks are just going to have to drown... there is no way to escape our financial burdens. There has got to be something legitimate out there. UGGGHHHH |
jULIE TAMPA FL | 10:21am on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | my girlfriend e-mailed me the article - it stated that "Mary" from Pinckney MI is making $300 a day! I clicked on the link and said the same thing, but Mary was now from Tampa.
Scam Scam Scam Scam..... |
Sara Durham, NC | 7:42am on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 | DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE! THEY HAVE HIDDEN FEES THAT ARE BEYOND THE $1.97 SET UP FEE. THIS IS A SCAM AND MY BANK WILL NOT REFUND THE $79.90. I AM LIVID!!! |

Ron Ontario | 6:51am on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 | Thanks for reminding me, that if it sounds too good to be true, it really is. |
amanda miami | 12:09am on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 | I started to sign up for one if the google packages and backed out because i was scared and i received a call the next day from google and they wanted to know if i wanted to sign up for their program and they told me there was a monthly fee and I told them that all i had was a discover card and I was then asked several times if i had a visa or mastercard they were told no repeatedly and then i was asked if i had any friends or family members that had a card i could use and i told them no they started being very pushy and persistent and I had to tell them that they weren't listening to me over and over I finally told them i was not liable for anything and had to hang up on them it was very unsettling, so I would advise to steer very clear of them. |
tone new york | 5:38pm on Monday, August 24th, 2009 | whoa, i was 20 mins away from buying one, good thing i read this first. would of been broke after a couple of months! |
CG Ky | 1:32pm on Monday, August 24th, 2009 | I made the mistake of answering this too. I only agreed to 2.18 kit, email received with password. I received nothing in the mail. 8/23 they attempted to charge 89.97 to my card. thankful it was declined. the card I used for the 2.18 was almost maxed and there was not enough for the 89.87 charge. I called the 800 # 866-952-7243 and spoke to someone named Erica. She stated that the 89.87 was monthly fee, which I knew nothing about. She said it was in the terms. there were not terms in the email i received, i have a copy. She said my account was canceled when my card declined the charge, thank the Lord. I canceled the card. This is really a SCAM, do not get hooked. Dumb and educated. |
Jenna Toronto | 11:17am on Monday, August 24th, 2009 | I was so close to signing up for this! The lady that I talked to sounded so honest and sincere about the it. They make it sound like the chance of a lifetime when it's all a scam. |
Mike Sac | 12:24am on Monday, August 24th, 2009 | I just wanted to make money but like everyone else it says Mary is from Sacramento with her hubby Kevin and she makes 5000 a month. Then i got out of the site and then logged right back on and the ad and picture were the same but the name was now maria instead of Mary same site same picture same check with 5000 on it but totally different name DO NOT by any means sign up you will save a lot of money |
Amy oregon | 7:51pm on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | I was looking on the site for this and got a bad feeling so I started to click back to get to my home page and an instant message popped up offering me a lower trial offer of 99 cents instead of $1.97. I asked how the system worked and the person on the IM said I just needed to pay the shipping and I would get all of the info, I then asked why I needed to give out my CC info before finding out how this system worked. The person on the IM just said that I may already be in their system and to contact customer service. This made no sense so I started looking this up and found this! So glad I did!!!! |
Mary Maryland | 7:12pm on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | Thanks to this sight and all of your warnings!!! I was just about to sign up when I found this sight. I almost got caught up in this SCAM. THANK YOU! |
Tammy Sanford, NC | 1:09pm on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | Almost did this and was all excited telling my husband about it. My husband was totally against it until we check it out. He did not have a problem buying it for me no matter the cost, whether $1.97 or $500. The fact is that I suffer from lung cancer and cannot work outside the home. So being bored out of my mind is not cutting it and you can only clean the home so much. It is so bad that I have resorted to talking to my dogs. I guess what I am trying to say is "thank God for overly cautious and protective husbands". However, I do want to thank everyone for his or her own experiences and one quick word of encouragement from me, please, please listen to the voice inside of your gut because I will promise everyone right here right now that it is your own appointed personal guardian angel protecting you. PS Kevin and Mary supposedly live in Sanford, NC. May love and peace be with all. Tammy |
Mike San Diego | 12:49pm on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | The one I saw was a link from the AOL homepage!!! It was blatantly obvious to me it was a scam and the testimonials were fake as hell. There weren't any misspelled words or punctuation mistakes like the ones that run rampant on any real comments page. (clue #1) Also, the comments were 100% positive or at least curious, no haters! (clue#2) Also, why would they show a picture of a check and black out the name on the check (which is at the top of the article) but leave in the check # and bank account#??? SHAME ON AOL FOR NOT SCREENING OUT THIS OBVIOUS SCAM!!!!! |
Rose Essex, Ontario | 11:28am on Sunday, August 23rd, 2009 | Hey - I heard good ole Mary lives in Tilbury - what a scam! |
Alain Montreal | 5:26pm on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 | The ones behind this are called "Grant Instructor" from Nevada. You will probably find their company names charging you on the BBB website from Nevada.
I don't want to say much more because now the whole thing is under several investigations. |
Maria Australia (Perth) | 9:30am on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 | A big thanks to everyone who has posted comments about this scam. Unfortunately I had already given my credit card details to receive the bogus kit but luckily about 10 mins after giving my bank details I came across this web page saying how much of a scam it is. I immediately called my bank to deactivate my card, the crooks had already taken $36. |
nt rh eng | 8:41am on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009 | guys don't beat yourselves up. this is a very clever scam and has caught a lot of us out. i consider myself as pretty smart, but alas i was sucked in (almost) too many creditable names associated with it (google cnn etc) it was just gut instinct that changed my mind, as i was just one click away from signing up. the thing that got me was when i clicked cancel, a pop up message came onto my screen asking me to reconsider, uninvited aggravation really p'd me off. |
Tim Ballwin MO | 6:57pm on Friday, August 21st, 2009 | Apparently Mary and Kevin live in Ballwin MO as well. What a freaking scam. |
Fred Alabama | 3:37pm on Friday, August 21st, 2009 | If you pay $1 for kit that is suppose to make you thousands. That should be enough said! SCAM! |
Micheal Condron Chillicothe, Missouri 64601 | 11:41am on Friday, August 21st, 2009 | hmm, I was surfing around the net one night when I came across this, Online advertisement---> that popped up on my screen, make money on Google placing ad`s maybe make a comfortable living ??? After entering all my information and entering my bank card information for the $2.00 package, which I understood too be sent regular mail too your address. Well it never showed up and after a certain amount of time (a month) I found the number on my bank statement, I called the number wondering what happened too my order, kind of pissed, some guy said that because I had an attitude he wouldn't deal with me. After several months of wondering if what could of happened too order, my checking account was charged 13.42 twice for some internet site (monthly charges) and 9.83 once for some calendar too track your progress, which I knew nothing about. I was told this morning that, If I would have read some fine print, I would have had knowledge of all these charges, I didn't get no package in the mail or in my email; address ??? I`m still Kind of dis-satisfied because not only was I charged these charges but all so, these charges put me into overdraft a few times, I`ll definitely know better next time, that only hard work in real life gets you ahead, even if its a reputable name like even google ??? Hope this helps someone down the road !!! |
Jack Donavan usa | 9:54am on Friday, August 21st, 2009 | Just remember when you stumble upon all sites promising great riches, leading you through myriads of videos and websites asking for a little bit more of your soul. Stop and know this is a pyramid scam. There is always a bill of goods sprinkled with a little truth. Be aware that it sounds fabulous because real people seem to have made it, but remember to click away. They all use the same proven system which is create many websites, use videos to draw in the victim, keep them clicking through, hide the info, suck out a little money over and over until they either buy into the scam or quit with empty pockets. Real money is made through relationships and hard work, nothing easy and quick is worth the costs. |
ripped off Maryland | 9:45am on Friday, August 21st, 2009 | I am old enough to know that if it sounds too good....did it anyway. Just found out some company charged me 60.00 for "diet info"; also getting bunches of telephone calls for online training to start a business. DON'T FALL FOR IT! |
paul md | 11:56pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | thanks for saving me, i'm about to sign but i search for this to have some more info... |
Ebony Los Angeles | 11:15pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | Omg!!! I was so close to signing up after reading about 'Mary.' I really thought it was a sure thing seeing as how it was Google and I read some posts saying how they make a nice amount of money. I'm so happy I came to this page and read all the reviews!!!! |
guy jersey city | 9:57pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | I tried this and saw the different charges totaling close to $300 on my card. I did resolve it by closing my account. The amazing thing about this is, AOL still has it as a Sponsored Link at the bottom of there news page Once you click on their news article down at the bottom its still there to entice people.
Im surprised NBC, ABC, CNN, USA today who all have their emblems on the link still hasn't done anything to put an end to it. |
Catherine ottawa Ontario | 1:35pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | Just saw the ad saying Mary Steadman and her husband Kevin live in Ottawa Ontario. and, just as you have noted, there is no such person. |
lucky guy michigan | 12:14pm on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 | Thank you all for your comments. I was close to signing up. Hey Mary lives in wixom, MI. too!!!! |
Anonymous Location unknown | 1:39pm on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 | I too was desperate and this sounded like an easy way to make some money on the side. Before I know it, I am getting billed from List For Cash, Money Market Club, SBA Track Online, and a few others that I never realized I signed up for because it is in the fine print. And since I didn't know I was going to get charged these amounts, my checking account has been hit with a few overdraft fees. I just hung up the phone from talking with them and they "have a no refund policy"!!! No legitimate company has a no refund policy!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! |
Kim MI | 12:58pm on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 | I didn't ever sign up for this. I assumed something was up when I saw it needed a credit card and immediately searched Google for the kit name with scam added on the end.
I just wanted to say that I saw an article today that said good old Mary and Kevin are from Rochester, MI too. No listing for any such people. |
dave ct | 9:38am on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 | Its pretty sick, that people are preying on the unemployed. At a time with things being so bad and people getting desperate for cash, things like this start to happen. Sadly, there's probably nothing anyone can do. It makes me wonder though, who are these people? the ones behind the scams? I wonder if its just one persons idea, or a whole network, or several separate networks.. Its crazy.. I actually got a text to visit the site today, from a friends AIM acct. hopefully she didn't fall victim.. |
Anonymous CA | 3:12am on Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 | What I don't get is why a website like ABC News.com would put this on their site as a "sponsored link." That's how I found the Google Biz Kit. Even though ABC is obviously not endorsing this product, still why even have such a link on their site???? |
Sharon VA | 5:29pm on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 | I was foolish and gave my home phone number and was contacted today and gave my Debit card number. As soon as I realized it was a scam, I called my bank and they reported my card as stolen so it can't be used by these crooks! I have also notified my local news station and asked them to please do a story about this scam. |

RajadiRaj London | 9:34am on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 | My friend suggested this without careful examination then :)....you know who you are.....***ai
I found this page with very minimal research and cautioned him immediately. Guess two of us saved from 70 ro 100 dollars a month.....Cheers to all you guys for posting your comments.....
Oh my friend you owe me a party for having saved you from a rip off..... |
Erin New York | 9:20am on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 | Horrible scam. It says in the terms and conditions it will be billed monthly after 7 days if you do not cancel. You call and cancel and receive the confirmation email that your account was canceled and 7 days later, you find a transaction on the account you used to register for $79.90. You call customer service and they tell you they will refund it but it will take 7 to 14 business days.
SUCH A SCAM!! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS EVER!!!!!!!!! |
Anonymous Location unknown | 12:32am on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 | ya paid for the kit but never received it. then found out that they will be charging each month for a product that was never delivered! |
Missy US | 8:38pm on Monday, August 17th, 2009 | Man I am SO STUPID! I knew NEVER to pay for anything regarding work at home. But I was so desperate. So I went against my better judgment. Luckily, I guess, I found this site so I thank the good Lord above for looking out for me. I am going to the bank tomorrow to cancel my debit card. I thought about just telling them they can't pay this anymore but someone posted that they signed them up for other stuff too that they had declined. SO I'm canceling my card altogether! Now anyone know how to get rid of all the junk mail that is now coming to my email address? I put it together that that site is where it is coming from. Boy my husband is ticked off. How can we trust people when they do nothing but rob us? So sad what this world is coming to. |
kj sc | 4:13pm on Monday, August 17th, 2009 | I'm about to cry, i was literally about to sign up and saw this site and clicked it.....i cant believe people would take advantage of the poor and unemployed like this. i needed this so bad....damn it |
Lynn Indiana | 12:01pm on Monday, August 17th, 2009 | I too paid the $1.97 (which was $1.87 on the website) and then was charged a fee of $47.50 for who knows what.
I call the 800 number and the man that I spoke with said "too bad you signed up for this."
I received nothing from google, and was not able to access their exclusive members only website.
This is definitely a scam.
It is sad that unemployed people who are trying to find work get scammed for any amount of money.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sign up for this site.
I have been at the bank this morning disputing this unauthorized charge and canceling my bank card so that I am not charged this "fee" again. |
Alex Florida | 10:36pm on Sunday, August 16th, 2009 | I cannot believe that after approx 12 years of browsing the internet I finally got caught by one of these online scams. They are really good at what they do. Here I saw an ad on a reputable news website, and google's name plastered all over it.
The site is profitcenterlearning.com. I cannot wait to call them tomorrow and give them HELL! but then I ask myself, should I? I mean no one put a gun to my head and told me to signup.
I was stupid they are being smart, and now I have to go through the inconvenience of cancelling my credit card and get a new one, update all the sites which charge my credit monthly for services like my hosting, power and light, cell phone, insurance, ect.
This is a learning experience for someone who ridicules people for being so stupid for getting caught in these type of scams. Shame on me!! |
ELJ Temple, TX | 2:35pm on Sunday, August 16th, 2009 | I am still waiting for my Google Kit, but after reading the above statements, I guess I was another sucker. |
unknown unknown | 7:11pm on Saturday, August 15th, 2009 | I was thinking about doing this and it seemed so real and I was hoping it would be because I am going through financial struggles right now. But I am glad to find it is. I did read the terms and conditions on the site but still I was skeptical so I decided to do a little more research and behold I come across this and comments from people who had bad experiences or almost tried it. So sad because I was hoping it would be an answer for my troubles. So somebody is making money but it isn't us. It's them. Hopefully something could be done :( |
joe U.S. | 6:37pm on Saturday, August 15th, 2009 | The old adage holds true, ..."if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is." |
Daksha Uk | 2:36pm on Saturday, August 15th, 2009 | I just checked the website and in SMALL print it does state the monthly charge of 70 dollars. That's why they insist on credit card details, no other method of payment available. Must admit I don't think much of the people who 'swear' by making money from these and who have all 'given up the day job?!!' |
Ingrid Gisborne NZ | 11:32pm on Friday, August 14th, 2009 | I saw this on facebook and thought it was genuine It mentioned the other scams and that theirs was real. It used all local business names in NZ so even I was fooled. |
Brian Rook Miami, FL | 9:16pm on Friday, August 14th, 2009 | I wish I had read this article before I was conned out of three $70 electronic cash transfers from my checking account. Oh the price we pay to learn that there isn't a free lunch. My situation was somewhat different. I elected to pay s/h for a dvd about government grants. I got the dvd and had actually forgotten I ordered it. Had I been more diligent I would have been checking my online account monthly and scrutinizing transactions. I am going to get the money back [IN SPADES] but from a totally unrelated crisis. Rather than keep the reader panting with baited breath on just how I can do that, in short, my son swallowed a sliver of glass from a blender from Wal-Mart. Had to have it surgically removed from his stomach and so he could have died a horrible death. Punctured aorta or heart, peritonitis, etc. We thank God he pulled through OK. Product liability and the item was still under warranty. So this tale has both a tragic and happy ending. OK, call me weird. But, be aware of those Govt. Grant DVD offers.

Brooklynn Mobile, Al | 8:47pm on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 | OMG! im so glad i took the time to research this a bit better i was just on the phone with them yesterday and decided not to give them my info. they are very persistent when trying to make you buy the kit. avoid them |
Steven Baer Salt Lake City, UT | 3:51pm on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 | New low in scamming. Had a pop up come up with a "news" article about a mom in my area that had lost her job but was doing ok with this Google thing. The article supposedly came from our local newspaper. Luckily I looked at the web address... not even affiliated with my local newspaper. www.news7daily.com. Add it to your list of examples of horrible scams. |
Dallas NC | 2:41pm on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 | STAY away from this company, it is nothing but a rip off... I was one of the lucky ones, I called 1-800-497-4998, and got a full refund for the $79.90 charge to my account. |
Margaret Australia | 3:22am on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 | I went on believing all I read and then got scared when they wanted $62 USD to check out my card and I declined and it came up with 'Bad Customer" I then clicked off altogether and today found this site and thankfully because of everyone saying what has happened to them, I have rung the bank and canceled my card, so no transactions can go through.
thank you for allowing me to have a say. |
shannon little rock ar | 8:26pm on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 | I read the article about the Google work at him kit for $1.97, then after you enter your credit card info, you get the notice that you will be billed monthly for $70. As usual, a scam. I tried to call immediately to cancel and could not get through. I have called my credit card company to alert them that I do not authorize any charges from the company. |
ThouShaltNot USA | 1:52pm on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 | Is this the automatic monthly charges from your credit card "switch" that is now causing you much
woes?
THE SWITCH
"By submitting this form, I am activating the MyMoneyPlan three day trial. I also agree to the
bonus trial of SearchProfitSystem for fourteen days. After the three day and fourteen day trial
periods, I will be billed forty-nine dollars and eighty four cents for MyMoneyPlan and twenty eight
dollars and seventy one cents for the SearchProfitSystem monthly thereafter until I choose to cancel either or both programs." |
JWC North Augusta, SC | 8:48am on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 | Thank you for this information. After reading the Terms and Condition, I went to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) site first to check it out. I didn't have enough info. I then googled and clicked this site. Everything I suspected was confirmed. I had all my information to sign up for the Kit, except my credit card. I wasn't going to do anything until I got understanding. From trying so called "get rich quick scams" in the past, I've learned to check the BBB first. Google was my second choice. I am glad I chose to Google, too!! |
Alain Montreal | 11:14am on Monday, August 10th, 2009 | I have a question for everybody. I am trying to figure out if the actual “Google” could be involved or profit from this scam. Because if you remember the publicity we all fell for, it suggested to follow some steps but it also suggested to follow ALL the steps for the project to pay off. Now I am wondering if in one of those steps we actually registered with the real Google (Adwords, Adsense) and the other(s) one(s) we registered with those guys taking our money. If someone could remember in detail I’d be really curious to know. Because I don’t know if you realize it but it would be a “win win” situation for everybody (Google, those bad guys, the CC companies…etc..) except for us: “the unemployed”. |
Kate NV | 2:23am on Monday, August 10th, 2009 | It looks like Mary and Kevin Steadman live all over the country. On the page that I came across, they claim that they live in San Jose, CA. For me, their picture was not very convincing. She looks rather like a teenager and not a woman who has school age kids and has been working for years. |
Sherry Ingersoll Ontario | 3:13pm on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 | I live where they are saying Kevin & Mary Steadman live in gersoll, ONtario and there are no such couple! save your money!! this is a complete scam. |
Alain Montreal | 8:51am on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 | I know I mentioned it before but those fraudulent pages detect where you are in the world and insert it in the text to make it more convincing. Plus they hide monthly payments in the links "Terms and Conditions". So if you fill in the form without opening those links they charge you. That bogus forum is also part of the scam because you can't leave a message. Those 3 elements definitely make this a real fraud. Report this fraud to authorities...so they could be stopped ASAP... |
Shawn Danbury, CT | 12:20am on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 | I too signed up for the what was then known as the "Google Home Kit"...I never received the starter kit or CD or any information once I paid for the shipping...luckily I have not been charged any monthly fees...I too found two separate articles with pictures included of people from my town that have been successfully making $5000 a month with this scam...eventually these guys will get caught and be Madoffed...well maybe not for as many years but they will be imprisoned. |
sara ky | 7:32pm on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 | I found this website which Mary and Kevin claimed to be from Morganfield, Ky and were making over $5000 a month. I found it strange being myself from this small town were everyone knows everyone. I have never heard of these people and they are not in the phone book. I decided to investigate and I'm glad I did! Where are the morals!! |
Susan Birmingham | 6:30pm on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 | Kevin and Mary Steadman are supposed to live in Birmingham Al too-I looked under www.whitepages.com and in several old phone books and there is no one with those names listed-Iam so glad I read this blog before ordering |
Anonymous Location unknown | 11:08pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | Glad i read this, i was just about to give up my credit card... Then i thought i better make sure this is not a scam, first thing i find. Google scam... LOL! Thanks for the help! |
Darrell Ontario | 6:07pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | thanks for the heads up guys i had actually got a phone number to call them back it of course does not work and i did get a number of a woman her name is Paula Holmes so if this lady calls you plz beware |
karen PA | 5:44pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | I discovered what looked like an article out of the local paper about a guy making $5,000 a month at this. He actually stated that it wasn't that much but it was working (haha I'll take it). Then of course you click this link. What newspaper would send you to such a scam if it wasn't a scam itself. Don't know if the guy exist and don't know if he's local but I have heard the terror of trying to cancel auto charges to cards from numerous companies and basically your best bet is to cancel your card. Hope he is really out there making his bucks but I will find another way. Oh forgot to tell you, all the feed back listing on the site was people saying that they were having the same success and thank you very much, yada, yada, yada. but they were all posted on the same day, DUH! |
Sam Oakland | 4:02pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | I finally avoided something this time because I decided to read the fine print instead of the BIG PRINT. It's scandalous how these people blasphemies Google's name so they can take advantage of individuals who look and respect Google as the big and established corporation it is. Don't these people have anything else better to do than rip people off or is that how capitalism works? |
plato denver | 2:54pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | I found the fine print on one of these websites. This includes, ironically, all the information about how the spam works. I have pasted the fine print below. I found it in a fake newspaper article from New York Gazette News, reporting how people earn a lot of money using the two kits.

Beth Florida | 2:20pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | Report this to Google. Perhaps they can do something. I found this link in regards to reporting trademark violations:
grrr...this site won't let me paste the link. so, in the link below, just put the periods where they belong and tighten up the spaces between the slashes and the words:
go to wwwgooglecom / support / websearch /
when you get to the page, click on the link for contacting support. they have a link for reporting trademark infringement. |
Beth Pensacola, FL | 2:06pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | It was advertised on Career Builder as a job, and now they title it Google Money Profits. BEWARE |
Craig Santa cruz CA | 1:41pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | WOW, I'm really glad I took the time to look at this up a little more deeply before I signed up. I had a feeling it was a scam. I'm sorry for the people who did sign up. |
Mandy Colorado | 1:26pm on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | I'm so very greatful that I read this. I saw an online article about a young mother and how she made money- I (like an idiot) thought I'd give it a shot. I just ordered about an hour ago and then decided to do some further investigating.
After reading this article and all of the comments I got scared. I called 1-800-497-4988 and they were pretty nice about it and canceled my membership and said I'd only be charged $1.97 and NOTHING else.
Thank goodness for you all! |
Linda Baltimore MD | 9:11am on Friday, August 7th, 2009 | I signed up for the $1.99 home biz kit. In turn I did not receive anything in the mail, they signed me up for 2 other services and I'm out $124.00. I called them to get a refund they refused. They told me to file a police report and fax it to 213/291-8170. The two services are:www.credithelpcs.com and www.777discountclub.com
The claim it is a trial membership and u have to cancel or they will charge. I specifically declined these other services. BEWARE |

adam Location unknown | 5:51pm on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 | this place is charging me and i don't know y, there phone number is not working I've called both. |
Art Washington, DC | 11:41am on Thursday, August 6th, 2009 | Isn't it surprising that Google hasn't trounced on them for trademark infringement? I know they spread faster than cockroaches. But Google is the premier net tech giant. I mean it's not like Google would have trouble tracking them down.
This is damaging Google's reputation and impinging on their own advertising tactics. So what's the scoop Steve? Why do you think Google is letting it stand? |
L.Brown Columbus,Oh | 3:23pm on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 | I am single mother, and these blogs kept popping up! I decide to click on to check it out. Soon as I click to where it stated it needed my credit card,I got suspicious. I started to investigate and found all these websites stating that the Goggle Biz Home kit is a scam. Thank you for this website. I hope other people check this website out before they are scammed. |
Fern Maratta RI | 3:07pm on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 | I signed up for the home business and paid $1.95 for shipping. I immediately saw that it was not what it promised to be and told the hundred telemarketers who called to follow up as much. However, I was billed for 2 months at 69.90 before realizing what had happened. My bank is now trying to reverse the charges. If there is a way to warn people then here is my testimony-this is a scam. |
Jim Baton Rouge | 7:53am on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009 | Glad I read this BEFORE is gave them the two dollars. I am retired and was looking for some honest part-time work over the internet or something I could do in my office at home.
I think we all better try ours local newspapers instead of the internet. |
Ann Hawkins | 7:17pm on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | I was looking online hoping to make some extra money in these trying times. I started to type in my credit card number when I decided to make sure I was doing the right thing. Thank you for letting everyone know that this is a scam. |
Renee California | 3:11pm on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | I too signed up for the "free" offer and gave them my credit card # for the $1.97 shipping. It was not until then did they state the $79.90 monthly charge! I immediately called them and canceled (800-497-4988). The charges were not put through (yet). For this reason, I used my Amex, cause I knew they would stand behind me and they are! I just wish I would have checked this site out first. BEWARE! |
Michele Chicago, IL | 12:30pm on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | Thank God I had sense enough to look into this but it was too late. My husband ordered this CD for me and after a few days it never came so I decided to check it out again. I just called him and told him to notify the bank and tell them the charges are all fraud. |
gabriel West Virginia | 11:49am on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | Its not even good enough to get one star but idk i didn't fall for it until i looked it up on the (BBB) and they said it wasn't even a real site then I seen this page and man I feel for all yall ppl who did |
megan NH | 10:44am on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | Being a single mom of 2 I thought this sounded like the end of our money problems, a dream come true, or perhaps too good to be true. I was just about to type my credit card info in when I got a bad feeling and decided to check it out more, I'm so glad i did. It took me a total of 2 minutes to figure out that it was a huge scam!! We have enough money problems, I don't need some scam like this stealing money my kids need. My advice...... always check to see if something is a scam BEFORE you enter your payment info and its too late!! |
Maggie UK | 10:10am on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | They have a new name they're using to advertise on facebook now:
the 'example' is Mike Steadman or so, college drop-out and lost his job at Burger King, living somewhere in the US.
The product is called "Home Start-up Kit".
I was looking at it and then decided to google more information on it when I stumbled upon your site (which is actually exactly what I was looking for).
When I tried to close the tab in which I had pulled up the link for signing up for the product (I hadn't put in all my info and had not hit submit) of course I got a pop-up saying a representative wanted to talk to me.
If this is a 'limited time offer' then why are you folks so anxious to hire me?... yeah, I thought so. |
BA toronto | 11:44pm on Monday, August 3rd, 2009 | I did sign up for the kit like a fool but very soon realized they were so misleading and kept taking me in circles with the pretext of giving more information, while there was none.
Upon reading more I found out that we had to end up paying to post advertisements through Google Ad-sense to promote the business which is a scam. never waste your time in reading these type of ad's as they are 101 % bogus.
I did cancel my credit card to avoid any further charges and I feel all should do so who have ended up paying the $2.00 S&H charges and be saved from further charges.
Good Luck to all. |
Robin Los Angeles | 2:40pm on Monday, August 3rd, 2009 | We are a small non-profit who was looking for ways to do some fund-raising. Saw the ad that said just pay 1.97 shipping and no other charges. Believe me I read the entire contract. Anyway no Biz Kit ever came and they charged our account 79.00 under the name GoWeb. If it wasn't for my bank I wouldn't have been able to contact them and this was my second time although according to them there was no initial contact. Which it was when there was no product. I bank with Chase and they are helping, if anyone else was scammed I suggest you not only contact your bank, but see if the bank will help file and investigation like mine has started. Believe me we can't afford to loose money, we are already struggling just to keep the doors open and our staff our volunteers. |
Bob Chicago | 11:42am on Monday, August 3rd, 2009 | Call your credit card company and report it as a fraudulent charge. Mine has been reversed.
They cannot hide the details in the fine print like that and say it is a FREE program with only $1.97 shipping and handling. A monthly charge doesn't make it free!! |
