International Data Entry at Home Institute

Is Maryanne Kennedy and www.OnlineDataInstitute.com a Scam?

International Data Entry at Home Institute is a new certification program created by Maryanne Kennedy.  She claims that after completing her course you'll be able to make $210 - $1,020 a day only working 7hrs a week.

The training that is provided is for a "new" kind of data entry opportunity, one that requires no experience and the most basic computer skills.  Maryanne goes on to describe how on one lucky day she was introduced to the International Data Entry at Home Institute and her life has never been the same.

After completing the certification program at OnlineDataInstitute.com Maryanne has: quit her job, purchased luxury vehicles, lives in a huge house, spends more time with her son...and so on.  So is the International Data Entry at Home Institute a legit program or another BS scam preying on people's desire for extra cash and the chance to work from home?

In my experience any data entry program that has been making outrageous income claims sells you nothing more than a marketing manual.  The data entry that they're talking about referrers to filling out online ads for companies.  The money that you make only comes after people buy the products that you're advertising.

The program at the Online Data Institute costs $197, considerably more than the average data entry course so I thought they might be offering a more legitimate product.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.

It's the same as all the others, they direct you to Google's advertising program and deceive you into thinking that you'll be paid for the work you do, without telling you that it actually costs money to place these ads.

The type of work that they're actually selling can be lucrative if you understand and have training in internet marketing.  However the majority of International Data Entry at Home Institute customers are expecting to get what was advertised, a simple data entry job.  This is why there's a growing list of complaints against OnlineDataInstitute.com, their customers are not getting what they paid for.

I work online with a method where you can make several hundred dollars for a couple hours of work, whenever you have time.

This business is free to join and I won't charge you anything for the information, just let me know where to send you the info, Click Here.

Best of Luck,
Steve Albright

I was going to use this program and then I googled them and found this page. I immediately exited the browser window and to my surprise they were trying to offer me the program for a discounted rate. I knew it was definitely a scam then! Thanks for this report! It didn't fall on deaf ears.

After waiting a few days after I wrote you the first time, I wrote to Maryanne/Jennifer to see if I could get a refund. I wrote to them, telling them that I had an emergency that I needed the money for. They told me it would take five to seven business days for it to be credited to my bank account. I waited the allotted seven days at least, before calling my credit card compnay to see if I got the credit. Imagine my surprise when she told me that there was a credit for the $197 on my credit card statement!!! For all of you that are still trying to get your money, keep after them, and hopefully you will get it. I will never send money to anything again before I check it out!!! Thank you for this site to air our complaints.

The details describing the online job is extremely misleading. it should not called data entry but marketing using google. I just asked for my money back.

I almost thought this was legit and was so close to joining, but then I saw the disclaimer button on the bottom. When you press it, the computer comes back telling you that it can't find the address, but add an "l" to the address to finish "HTML" and it will suddenly show up. This company isn't even in the United States!!! It says right on there that they are based out of Cyprus and that they are only bound by CYPRUS LAWS! Yikes! No wonder there aren't any lawsuits against them. BEWARE!! I'm sooooo glad I checked this out before clicking that mouse button!

I did not do this becasue I thought it was a scam as soon as I heard it. Unfortunately my friend did it before I could research it. After reading the comments here I showed her and she called the 800 number listed, talked to an agent, was given a refund #. So we will see. In the meanwhile I am not going to let this go. I have contacted a local news station and plan on giving these "people" some real publicity. Many people are being scammed out of thousands of dollars and it is not wonder that 'Maryanne Kennedy' is a lifestyle many people can only dream about. Well, by the time that is done the only lifestyle I want them to see is in a 8x8 cell. Fraud, in this country is a crime, punishable by jail time. Someone has done the crime, now it is time to do the time.

Wow!!! I was just at "Proven" Data Entry Sites - officialy tested data entry sites - only 3 legit data entry sites exist - TopMakeMoneySite Previews.com and TJ says that this is legitimate??? Well as I read further down google I decided to stop here. Good thing I did. 97 cons as opposed to 1 pro? Thank you for saving me my hard earned money, especially since I just lost my full time job. C'est la vie.

It is so sad that people on the net will try anything to make a dollor on people that are trying to fine a business on the net for extra income. Some day they will pay for it.I have a home base business that i have been doing for 10 years and and i love it. Someday if i have the time i will try to put what im doing in a book and sale it on the net but i will be by the phone to help anyone that is doing what im doing.Good luck to every one that is looking for that special home base business.

It sounds like alot of people have been scammed by this offer - I almost did too. But please don't lump this business in with all other MLM's. It's amazing how one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. I have an amazing MLM business and does work and it's people like Maryanne that give us a bad name.

I wish I had of checked on these people first, sounded so convincing. Three weeks ago I got my first lesson, couldn't understand any of it, wasn't easy like they said e-mailed several times, I got e-mails back from "jennifer' but with no answers to my questions, I didn't realize i had to write ads, and pay for them to be posted, I never got a phone interview, now 3 weeks later I haven't received any more info, no lessons, I went straight to my cc and they are taking care of it, but it is scary to know this co has all my info, I have learned to google first

I wish that I had known about this website before I got involved with them. I never did get an e-mail from Maryanne Kennedy, it was always "jennifer, who works with Maryanne". I was suckered like so many of you, to send my $197 for something that I thought was going to help my income. I too, was supposed to get things in the mail, that I didn't get, and for some reason, I couldn't get the files to download so I could get the information. I e-mailed them and told them, but they said it must be something that I was doing, since all the others in the program had no trouble downloading anything. It sounded like I could get started making money in two weeks, but all I got for my money was stuff to read, that didn't make much sense at all. I did write to Jennifer/Maryanne asking for a refund, but they said for me to give them another chance, but if I would like a refund, that they would do that. I am going to challenge them again for my refund, since I have found from all the reviews that th... read more »

Just a follow up post to yesterday. I checked with both the Attorney General of California and the BBB. With the BBB this company has a rating of F. Attached to the phone number 800-381-7820 is a note to advise any inquiry not to call. It is sad, because there are some elements of their program that might be helpful but what they advertise and what they send out are completely different things. The fee was posted to my cc today and I called and requested a refund. Reluctantly, it was granted and I have a confirmation number which I have supplied to my cc company. I hope this is beneficial to others out there as it was for me. My advice - look for something else - this is not what they promise.

I found this site just after sending in payment for the program and before it posted to my credit card. I notified the credit card company of the scam and was advised to wait and see if it posts. Then, after it posts, file a charge back complaint. In the meantime, this company keeps quite busy with responding to emails and telephone calls. Interestingly, they answer their phone "customer service". It is apparent there are several scams operating around this number. I did get a call from the company for a coaching session. I rescheduled and the agent did not call back. They did send me information regarding the program and an internet marketing savvy individulal may be able to make some extra cash using their system. There is also a listing for the Ohio BBB that is quite informative.

Yesterday i finally was issued what was to be my refund that is to take effect in five business days, so we'll see Bank of America proved to be of very little help just as i had read in previous comments to save time just ask for a supervisor as the customer service agents can't refund your money only the four supervisors there are more than 90 agents the agents hold time is 2 or 1 minute so not alot can be done with that restriction and the electronics report kept on the agents can't be rationalized away having held jobs i've not felt the best about but needed the check these agents are aware of the issues but will still try to resale the product to the point where i wondered if they were on commission so be ready and keep your goal in front of ya i'll let you know if my success was just lip service on friday good luck these agents do feel shame but the dollar is the dollars

I am now in the process of trying to dispute the charge. I called Online Data Institute's Cust Serv # and they did the same go around as many others have said. It seemed like they were telling me in one breath that they would refund my money and in the next breath would be trying to convince me to still give it a try. I finally just hung up when he kept giving me the run-around and I didn't know what would happen.

I called my CC company even before the charge had been fully processed but they said they couldn't take any action until it appeared on my account after the initial temporary authorization. I have been checking my account every day and it didn't get posted to my balance until today.

Incidentally, another person called today from the same place and said they were from the Online Data Institute which really sent me into a bad mood. I too should have looked this up before spending the money. I am usually smarter than this, but I am in the process of getting things set up to sell my house of 23 years because my husband is leaving me. I was desperately looking for a way to make some money, since I don't make much, and I won't be able to afford to be on my own. I paid online, got the confirmation and they told me I would get a call for my "consultation" in one or two days. They didn't call. I called them. We set up the "call" for this past Sat. at 1 pm. They never called. EVER. So, I called today, and demanded my money back, she talked me into giving them "ONE MORE CHANCE" so I said, fine. She said she would mark it URGENT so that I would positively get called tonight at 7 pm. This is 8 friggin days from the time they got my money, and I'm supposed to be making money in two weeks. This is such a scam! I never received anything but a "Confirm your request" email and never received any materials from them. I called the 1-800-381-7820 number and after being badgered by a rep was finally able to talk to a supervisor who promply agreed to process my refund request but when she came back on the phone with me she told me that her system would not allow her to process the refund and she was getting a msg stating no sale transaction was found. She then provided me a refund code # and advised me she would be sending a report to the corporate office and that I should get my refund in 7-14 days. She would not provide me a phone # to call her or the cooperate office back but told me she would keep in touch with me via email.

I only wish I had googled first!! I did receive their traning materials (Week 1) and after reviewing the materials, i found that to do anything costs you more money. I have contacted the company (1-800-381-7820) and after arguing with the rep, who kept trying to get me to try it out, she finally turned me over to a supervisor, who said I would receive a refund in 5-7 days.
Sadly, I got duped by the two males who called and now I am working with my credit card company to get these charges back. Don't waste your time.

I've received e-mails from these morons for several months, so I decided to read their information thoroughly - several things crossed my mind as I read: 1.)If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. 2.)Money up front?? I don't think so! 3.)Strange typos all over the testimonials and the pitch. Sloppy way to run a business, huh? I called our State's Attorneys' office and The Better Business Bureau to make them aware of these worms - perhaps we will see a Class Action law suit in the near future? This is a scam, I just spent the morning freaking out trying to get my money back. The only contact information available on the website is her e-mail address. So after some serious searching I finally got their customer service number and it is 1-800-381-7820. so finally I got my money back. while i'm on the phone speaking to the rep I tell her i want my money back. She asks me if I would like to know how this program could benefit me, I tell her no I just want my money back and she starts talking about it anyways. Finally I had to cut her off mid sentence and tell her "I can't afford it right now and it's something i might consider later on". So finally she shut up and processed the return. This was a real lesson learned on my part don't make the same mistake, and if you already did I hope the phone number helps you.

After, I gave all my credit card information, I got a BLANK PAGE, THEN A MESSAGE TELLING ME, THE WEBSITE HAD EXPIRED.

I immediately called my credit card company, and told them, I did not want this charge to go through or paid on my Credit card. They told me they would dispute it for me, and to call them back in two days. Which I intend to do.

I was doing research today on this company. I think it is all a scam. I even googled "Maryanne Kennedy", even the one spelled "Marianne Kennedy" at the top of the email. I could not find anyone matching her. I do not think this person exists. Did anyone else catch the typo of the name?

I too have been trying to get a refund and one of Maryanne's associates sent me an e-mail stating that Maryanne was fine tuning the program and that the book and disks would be sent to me shortly. I have been waiting since May 13, 2008 for this information. My computer that I saved all the information on with her e-mail address was fried, therefore, I have no way of contacting her again. Please, if you have her e-mail address, you may contact me here.

My husband forwarded their email to me because he knows I want to work from home. The website is very well constructed; almost had me convinced but I decided to check on their claim that they are getting so much attention through Fortune Magazine. One thing lead to another and here I am reading all these 'lovely' stories about Maryanne and her 'wonderful' easy money scam!

I thank you. My husband thanks you.

It is true that many companies are outsourcing so we need a way to find them. Someone out there should start a legitimate website. Take care.

OH MY GOD. I just got off the phone with these idiots after discovering this website. I'm a guy, and I couldn't stop myself from crying about five tears. I was highly pissed! How could I have been so damn stupid. Well after discovering the number on here, I called immediately. (mind you that the little virtual agent said there was no number and no number was posted on the website) When I got through, which didn't take long. I was fussed at by this b**** who demanded me to tell her why I wanted a refund. "I didn't receive a confirmation email and I just didn't feel right about this." The phone call lasted for 20 min. She was rude to the utmost degree. After talking to the supervisor she said she would issue me a refund after trying to dissuade me.

Wow this is insane. Looks like I am not the only smart person to do my homework before getting scammed. I noticed the same thing when I clicked on their disclaimers- nothing comes up for you to read.
I think all the people on this site should start our own company and get rid of evil people like that woman Maryanne Kennedy. how long is this going to go on?? she is probably making $197 every 5 minutes. Meanwhile us honest americans are just trying to live honest lives by working hard the old fashioned way!!! shame on her.

work for a real company anymore?

I became suspicious when I went to the website via two different emails at two different times, and the website said there were only 2 positions left in my area - both times. I did a GoogleEarth on the address and found it to be a warehouse - ligetimate address - bad location for a 'business'. Then I did a search on 'International Data-Entry-At-Home Institute', and landed here. A little common sense goes a long way. I just saved $197. Thanks for this site.

Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. People don't luck into "little work for great pay jobs" unless they make them up themselves or work up the ladder to be advanced into one.
Usually, when an opportunity falls into your lap, great job, acting career, singing career, modelling, the person that is offering you the legitimate opportunity of a lifetime has enough hope and faith in you to pay the upfront costs. You should have to pay money to be hired by a company that needs your skills. Think about it.

After a lot of yelling on my part, he finally conceded he could give me my money back, even though he was still concerned I would not be able to make more money. Based upon what I've read in this forum I have just contacted these people and demanded a full refund. I bluntly told them I was not interested and wanted my money refunded. Of course they tried to convince me of my LIFETIME membership and the great opportunity I was missing! I persisted in insisting on my refund which they said they would process. I also contacted my credit card company to give them a Heads-Up on the situation in case this becomes a disputed claim. Time will tell. Thanks to all of you for the insight

I went and purchased one of those prepaid Walmart visa cards to pay the $197 with so that if it was a scam they wouldn't have my banking information. My husband and I almost got caught up into this and THANK GOD I googled and found this site! We are not going through with giving them Our credit card # for $4,000.00 the "2" guys that called almost had us. Justin Barlow &or/Kial Oliver (kyle)was upset that I didn't give my credit card # on Thursday and I said I would do so today...I'm waiting for his call in about 2 hours (This could get interestingly fun)
As for Maryanne I have a confirmation # for my refund of the $197.00 to my bank account. 10 days into all of this... I'm a bit slow but things weren't adding up and I googled. We were promised a success story on an Infomercial and they "wouldn't let us fail because they couldn't fail" I wrote EVERYTHING down just like Justin/ Kial told me to do. So if anyone needs phone #s I have them.

I also started getting a bad feeling about it so i did a little research and began to see the information about it being a scam. I called today, June 28, 2008 and requested a refund. Like the others have said they tru to convince you to wait and see how the program works but I insisted that I wanted a refund. The lady said that she would speak with her supervisor, then she said that there was not one available. They have told me they would refund my money as I never did get the information they were to provide me. When they told me I would receive it in the mail in a few days, I told them I would refuse it and wanted my money back. They continue to try to convince me to at least read the material. I am continuing to request my refund. I believe they will return my money but I believe it will take persistance.

I had the same experience as Frank from Indiana where 2 males contacted me on the phone right after I sent for the Data Entry Program. I have not been able to do what they have "assigned me" through Thrive Learning Institute. Each time I try to do one of the assignments there seems to be another fee.

*******UPDATE*****

I got a full refund from these people.
Here is a copy of the emial they sent me.

Dear customer,

A full refund for the Program has already been issued.

We kindly request you to please wait for few more days, you will definitely see a revert back of payment in your account.

We appreciate your patience.

Thanks,
Carolina (I work with Maryanne)

Be very aggravating. Make sure that you send them email every day or call them on their REAL 800#. I posted it earlier.

Let them know that you know they are being investigated by the FBI for fraud and the attorney generals office. Advised them that you have filed a complaint with the BBB.

They will not want to deal with you. They will issue you a refund to get rid of you.

I got my refund posted to my account on 6/21/08.

Also if you paid by credit card contact your bank about a reversal of the charge for fraud.
GOOD LUCK.

I was duped before (I'm embarrassed to admit) by a company selling their program for making money online doing marketing surveys; however, at least that company did honor their money-back guarantee and I received my refund in a reasonable amount of time.
