MoneyFromHome.com
MoneyFromHome.com
is a website that boasts a database of over
1,000 home based job opportunities.
They also claim that all their postings are
scam free and kept up-to-date, they provide
you these services for a recurring
membership fee of 35$ per year.
This business has been around for more than
eleven years and has received some favorable
mentions from several noted media outlets.
I find that there are both positive and
negative aspects to MoneyFromHome.com.
The MoneyFromHome.com directory may
have a thousand job postings, but that
number is heavily inflated since many of
their recommendations are either fairly
obvious or only available to skilled
professionals.
For instance, they say that you can get a
job working from home as a mortgage loan
officer, although that may be a possibility
a unique position like that would naturally
go to the applicant with the most experience. Same goes for their
suggestions of starting a consulting or web
design business; all require experience and
specific skill sets.
Other suggestions that MoneyFromHome.com
make are plausible yet require training and
equipment expenses. Also they aren't really jobs
but work from home businesses that you can
invest in such as starting a
landscaping or an event photography/video
company.
However, they do post some jobs that are available to
the general public such as transcription or data entry postings.
Although after 11 years in business there
isn't enough positive feedback on
MoneyFromHome.com to fully recommend it.
Many work from home jobs can be found at
forums, craigslist, and resume submission
sites like Monster.com. Furthermore, if
you have specific skills you should try to
find a niche site that lists specific
opportunities for your field and not a
general directory. For instance web
developers and graphic artists can find lots
of freelance work at sites like elance.

Average Rating: George Southwest Texas | 6:03pm on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 | Three months after I joined, they suspended my subscription...they suspected that I was lending out my log-in ID & PW, because I logged in from my work PC and my home PC...they did refund part of my money...In the three months that I was able to view the job listings, I honestly never saw a "daily update" (NEW JOBS)
WASTE OF MONEY!!! |
Kathy VA | 9:00am on Friday, May 8th, 2009 | They DO list jobs in their database -- if you want to make hairbows that may or may not be accepted; if you want to do telemarketing; if you want to be a typist. In other words, things that aren't going to make you any money and things you can find for free on Craigslist.org or in your local papers.
They do have a "guarantee" -- but TRY to use it! If you sign up and immediately see there is no plausible match for you and the "positions" in their database, you can not automatically get your money refunded. You MUST keep trying to get a position for 60 days and then PROVE that nobody was willing to take you on and pay you.
I signed up for the work from home and business opportunity package. Their business opportunities were either affiliate marketing link or quickly written "reports" that told me to grow cactus, sell things on ebay or do yard work for people.
COMPLETE WASTE of time and money.
At one point I was kicked off their server and locked out! I had to wait 3 days for them to deal with me and then I was told that I had to provide them with a complete list of the companies I had applied to AND send them a resume to prove I was a job seeker before they would CONSIDER letting me back in! This happened somewhere around the 30 day mark.
I had paid via PayPal and immediately complained to them. That must have scared the "workfromhome" people and they ended up refunding my money.
Stay away from them! |
Scott CA | 11:17pm on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 | Ripoff.....period. Guarantee refund is a joke. No address, no phones......wonder why? |
Sherri Mobile, AL | 10:55am on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 | I joined moneyfromhome.com, and wasn't really able to find the right job for me. However, after having this membership for about 3 months, I logged on one day and was instructed to contact customer service. I did so, and after a few days found out that my membership was suspended. Why? I still don't know. I asked them to contact me and give me a reason, and I've never heard a word. So, there goes my money. I would advise against ANYONE signing up to this site!!! |
Lorraine Maryland | 3:16pm on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008 | I paid the fee for this information a few years ago. The very next day, my credit card (bank card) was used to purchase time on a "pay as you go" cell phone. I finally convinced the cell phone co. that I did not live in TX and my money was refunded. Anyway, once on the site, there were limited positions available that were not local to the listed companies. I emailed and wrote to about 20 different companies and never received a response. Now the company wants me to pay another $35 to renew my membership--NOT. |
Charlie Clayton Matthews, NC | 10:06am on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 | Just another scam, I lost my $39.99 but I'm in the process of contacting the Texas Attorney Generals office to file a complaint. After paying my money I could never get into their sire at all and they never answered my e-mails |
Tina CA | 11:04pm on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008 | I actually got about 5 different jobs from this site. Most of them didn't last except for one which I have been working for almost 2 years now. I am making enough to stay home! |
Phyllis Location unknown | 1:31pm on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 | I recently signed on to this site for one year. They claim to have this auction site that you can go to, but every time I tried I was asked to log-in again and again and again and still to only be sent back to the home page. I have sent e-mails to them without any answer at all. When I asked to be reimbursed for this they just turned around and locked me out of their site. I would recommend that no one sign up to this site, my feeling is that as so many others they just want the money. Stay Away! |
