MyDollarShop.com

MyDollarShop.com is a company that sells online ecommerce stores to the general public.  They claim that when you purchase a MyDollarShop website you'll be able to make money selling products you never have to see, store, or ship...but what's the real price of MyDollarShop.com?

There are a ton of complaints online about this company and the majority deal with the same recurring issue, which is billing.  The reason that so many people complain about this and call MyDollarShop.com a scam is because they have a rather deceptive billing practice.

On the order page of MyDollarShop.com they advertise that they will waive all franchise fees and send you the $39.95 kit for free.  What happens is that most people don't bother to read the terms and conditions, which essentially state that when you order the free kit you're signing up for a 14 day trial period of MyDollarShop.com.

Throughout that time if you choose to edit your MyDollarShop website or keep it past the 14 day trial period you will find out the real cost of doing business with them, $39.95 per month.  Since this is clearly outlined in their agreement policy it's very difficult for the folks that have fallen for this to get their money back.

Unless your absolutely positive that you want to work with MyDollarShop.com I would recommend avoiding the company altogether.  You shouldn't pay money to businesses that aren't up front about the costs of their product.

Further, even if they didn't conceal the price of their product the opportunity itself is not very profitable.  It's very difficult to make money with a standard ecommerce store since you're forced to compete with giant sales websites like Amazon and Overstock.  So unless you have an original product to market you won't be able to keep up with the competition.

Note: If you came to this website because you're looking for a way to make money online then I suggest you take a look at my top recommendations. These are the best methods I've found that anyone can use to make money online, Click Here.

This company is one of those scams that are talked about so often. I was one those people who fell for the scam and have been getting ripped off for the last 2 to 3 months.Needless to say we all fell for the "small print" advertisement, you know the small print that get's us everytime.Anyway, let this a lesson for us all.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! BAD BUSINESS!
THEY SENT CD INFO PACKET SO I RECEIVED IT AFTER 14 DAY TRIAL WAS OVER!

I signed up for a FREE Trial paid $1.97 on June 5th online, it ended up costing $9.95 for meSurplusAl CLEARWATER FLUS (I did not even know I sign up for this additional service) and $39.95 for Dollar Days!

I just got the CD software today Monday June 22, 2009. They purposely sent the software CD out so I would receive it after the 14 day trial was over. They have lousy products no one would want to purchase, so I decided I was not interested, I called them to cancel and they still charged me. This so called free trial cost me $51.87 for absolutely nothing! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! BAD BUSINESS

This company is cheating me out of money each and every month without my authorization.
I only recently looked at my on line checking account and see where you are taking out $39.?? and $.40 each month. How do they justify doing this from my checking account without me giving you permission. This is down right stealing my money.

OK update for all the non dollarshop believers. I wrote that post yesterday about waiting for my check to come. Well after I wrote that post I called the dollarshop people and got the scoop. First of all you will not get anywhere with the 800# they list on the website, that's the number for product inquiries etc. Secondly, the 800# is based out of Chicago and she told me to talk to headquarters and they are aka Technical support.
So if you have any problems call the 800 number and she'll give you the tech. support number.

Headquarters I have now found out is not in the Caribbean it is in Clearwater, FL. Dollarshop was owned by people in Caribbean but purchased from them and now is all US based. SO I am still hopeful that all is cool and I will wait to get my check in the mail in Feb. for I made over 200.00 in Jan and I am quite tickled about it! Cheers.

I have had this store now for over a month, and just got charged my 39.95 fee however when I placed my order for this business it was CLEARLY stated on the home page that this was FREE for a limited time only (14 days) and after that your card would be charged 39.95 a month. So not sure why so many of you thought it was always free how could that be?? You think the warehouses that are shipping this stuff are working for nothing? Anyway, so ok I understand that people have had issues on getting the charges cancelled on their card however, I have to tell you guys, I have been advertising this business for almost a month now and I have made over 225.00 and did not put alot of effort into it AT ALL, I have only placed little ads here and there. So MY main concern is when I get paid my check (which will come next month for the commissions earned in January) will that check clear??? That's my biggest fear right now and yes I saw that the address of the home office was in the Caribbean which is why I got worried in the first palce. So at this time I am going to wait it out, see if that check comes to me and if so if it clears, if it does then I guess I'm ok....if not oh no!!! I will repost once I get paid to let you all know!

It is better to use a prepaid card on sites like this and others. If you have a problem just call and it will be fixed right away I have this site and find it interesting to learn from. Indead the fear out there. Don't let it stop you. I have been truly happy with the people who helped me set this up. When I called them with a problem they were understanding and fair with me . I ordered items for my self to see how fast and good the items were. I was very happy with the order and the time it took to receive that order. The things I'm reading on this site are what your going to find on most all sites. Alway protect your self and use a prepaid card. It's simple as that....

The word misleading does not do these people justice, I would say they are deceptive, and should be banned from doing business on the web. That's what's wrong now with some web businesses and why they and others will ultimally destroy confidence in online shopping. There are other good sources to work with.

i signed up on 9/24/08, immediately went to the back office to view all the terms and conditions, found the recurring monthly charge and immediately sent an email notifying them to cancel my service at once. i have since been billed 39.95 3 times. never got anything in the mail from them and can't get anyone on the phone or any response to my emails. this program is a ripoff and a scam. i am presently disputimg the charges with my credit card co. perhaps i'll get my $120 back, but i'm not holding my breath.

Wow. I just signed up, and after reading all this, I sent an email stating I want to dissolve this whole thing.

I clicked on the icon that says,'how to contac them'. Is anyone aware? ..that 'a hidden' address will come up on the screen, and the real address is located in the East Caribbean.

I may have to do some talking with my bank now, like the rest of these people, who thought this company was honest. Close my account, I guess.

Hi,

You would think that this program would help people have some pocket money to make ends meet..for this not to work out? I don't understand why if you want to make some at least decent money for those that can't find employment and to get ripped off!...I can't believe it. Especially right now in today's economy. I really want to work at the very comfort of home.

I see they only took the 1.97 from my account, but I am going to close my bank account and start a new one, just to be on the safe side. They did send me a cancelation email.

This billing practice sounds very similar to FreelanceWriters.com where they claim a $2.95/mo initial charge but in fact have a $47.95/mo statement hidden with the same trigger - edit or change anything in your account and the billing begins LEGALLY!

I was tricked into thinking the kit was free. I am elderly and my eyesight is not that good so I guess I missed the fine print about the 14 days. I thought that it was something to watch and then if interested I would find my own items to sell. Very misleading!!! By the time I got my bank statement, I had been charged $39.95 for nothing. Then when I contacted my bank, I was informed that I had been charged again the night before. This is robbery!!!

I had read all the information on the MY Dollarshop, and everything seemed to be legit. So I ordered it on Aug. 29 2008. Today is the 5 of Sept. and I have not gotten my shop up on c/p yet. Also had not received my kit. I tried to call them Sept.3, and was told the lines were down. I was going to cancel. Something just didn't seem right and so I followed my intuition and just cancelled my credit card and was told my $1.97 would be taken care of also. I would not be charged. Also, would like to let you know they are working out of a lot of states for their cancellations. The one I talked to was in Chgo.and was told the co. was in Fla. She couldn't give me no address.I am very familiar with Chgo. and got friendly with her & found this out. So all these things I've just read on this line is true. " ITS A SCAM "

Back in May I fell for their scam and agreed to receive information and they would only charge me a nominal amount for S & H. The same day I phoned them to tell them that I only want the information and not to charge me for anything else. They assured me that I was not in their system for monthly billing. All was fine until today (8/7/08) when they charged my account for $39.95. I called and complained and they said my account would be credited within 14 days.

Well needless to say I think it's a big scam. I signed up for the free trial offer on 8/3/2008. In less than two hours I was deactivated. I replied 3 times on there support e-mail. I got no replie. After calling and being put on hold for 15 min I findley got agent #270. Well I got 14 days more on my free trial offer. So I had some of my freinds try the site. Every thing seem ok untill they click (Contact Us) on the web page. Guess what??. It showed error page. Also they say 29.95 for there service It,s 39.95. Also If you have any questions or concers, don't hesitate to call 1-800-931-3082 24 hours a days a week. Well needless to say that's not true eather. It's now 8/08/2008 8:47am I,am still on hold sent's 8:23am to cancle this garbage.

I just signed up an hour ago. Right afterwards, on the page that they tell you to print out because it contains important information, at the bottom of the page, instead of information for logging into my back office, there is an error log for a database error. When I tried to call the 24/7 customer support number, I got a recording saying they were closed, and gave me the days and times to call. After reading some of the reviews, I'm glad I used my prepaid debit card.

to stop the Dollar Store from taking your money, change your account # in your bank account or any account you are using, or, put a stop,or freeze on your account, then, when the Dollar store tries to take your money, nothing is there.

The dollar store is fair, but, to make any money, you must lower your prices to beat out the other 3,000,000 other people doing the same thing, so, in general, save your money and investgate first,or lose it.

My Dollar Store is a real scam. When you call to speak to a customer service rep. you are speaking to a person that you can not even understand. After 2 months with no hits on my website, I cancelled and had to scream to the that person to make her understand what I was trying to say. These people are only out to get peoples monies. Do not bite into this or anything else. Best of luck.

I called to have this service cancelled because I was not making money. Only being charged $39.95. Today (6/25/08) I was charged with another $39.95 fee from my checking account. I just spoke with customer service and they inform me, there is no record of the service being cancelled. I was told it would be cancelled now and the fee refunded to me. At this time, I have notified Better Business. This is a SCAM.

I also got caught up in the scam. Because all the info wasn't published on the front page I was charged $39.95. I paid $1.97 for shipping for the quick start guide and they also stuck me with an international fee for $1.20. I only found out about the fee when I received my checking statement. I failed to read the fine print-terms and agreement. CONSUMERS BEWARE.

I had a feeling that MY Dollar Shop was not on the up and up after speaking with someone about setting-up the website. I did not know the $39.95 fee was a monthly one. I'll have to check my account. I also paid .99cents to Surplus Alert.com for a 14 day trial. The person I spoke with kept promising to sent me an email with the information I needed to set-up the site. Still waiting after three attemps. I'll have to speak with the bank about stopping this monthly payment if it is still being deducted from my account.

I signed up for the Free kit and another site so I could use a research site for free. I had not noticed the 14 day trial, my fiance had warned me about sites like this but I guess I was just to tired to notice the fine print. I thank you all for giving the heads up!!! I called and canceled today they asked if I wanted to extend the trial period for another 14 days and yet I just ordered the kit yesterday. Has anyone had any problem with them charging the $39.95 even though they canceled during the 14 day trial?

Well, I always try to research before exploring these type sites, however, this time I did not. I was charged the $1.97 fee on my credit card within moments of signing up. I avoided additional charges by immediately canceling my credit card before they could begin the ritual of $39.95 monthly charges and not delivering the promised products, or websites, after visiting this great little info site about this scamming company. I also alerted the credit card company to be aware of the company as a scam.

I to have just filled out their form. but after reading this , i will bail out today and will put a stop on their $.99 today . All of you go to your bank and change your intire account, get a new card and let your bank know why you are doing this. They will help you and will stop funding them. As for getting your money back, well;that may be a lost to you . do not let them know that you are going to make the change, untill you have done it.

Well I see we have a lot of unhappy Campers with My Dollar Shop. I'm also uhappy with this one because it seem like a great idea to get somthing for just a dollar. But in the end unless you do some serious Marketing research or are already a internet marketing expert you will just be throwing your $39.35 down a deep well for a long time before you will see any profit in my opinion.

Hello there, my name is Rita. I have signed up for My Dollar Shop recently, and needless to say, I'm not getting anywhere with this. I think these people behind My Dollar Shop (whoever they may be)just want to get to other people's credit cards and take what they can get for themselves. I believe now that NO ONE makes money from this bullshit! Then when you try to "log in" to check up on your account in the "back office" or whatever they call your personal account, sometimes you have trouble getting into it; you can't check the traffic that comes onto your website, how much money you've made or NOTHING!!! My Dollar Shop is all SMOKE AND MIRRORS! It is a scam, just like Type-At-Home or DataEntryComapny.com too!

I'm one of "Katrina's" unlucky poor person and I thought I could get a few extra dollars to help get back what my insurance didn't pay for. And let me tell you somethin, dat "ain't" much. I wish there was a "thing" that would hear all the gripes, and try to track down on all the low, down, good fur nutin people STEALING our money. Dat ain't rite!! I got charged 3 times from them.
What gives? Please forgive my wording. I get extremely hot under the collar when someone STEALS my money.

my dollar shop.com is a scam...
I fell for this scam ,I bought a store two years ago and it has took me two years to get my commission up to $37.00. when it hit $37.00 every one who visited my store was blocked out, even me. I was up to 3000 hits a month and never made a sale except when i complained, why am i not making any sales out of 3000 hits? Then and only then would they give me credit for a couple of sales, then it would only be .50 cents or maybe a dollar commission. I listed my own items in the store owner specials of that store and I never made the first sale of my items. Even if i gave away something free just for visiting my store. I was never allowed to view the names or emails of the ones who visited my store. So after two years of hard work and constant calling.I have lost a lot of money. I hope no one else falls for this scam.

How To cancel, I just wanted to say, I just signed up for this mydollarshop.com and read EVERYTHING. But, I canceled out once just yesterday, because of not enough products to start with. I called back and wanted to give it a chance, they extended my 14 days of trial, then when I called back to talk with the help desk, questioning about getting more products, they offered to extend my trial period another 14 days. I didn't know there were any problems until I read these last night. So, I didn't want to take any chances,I canceled, but Thank God, I haven't had any problems with them taking any money off my card except I was accidentally charged 1.88 for something I said no to to a live offer from another source, I told them to send me a confirmation that I canceled last night, they did twice, once, the first time, then last night. They offered to extend another 14 day trial, I told them I would pray about it more. However, if you go in and read everything, it didn't really have any falsifications about their advertisement, it does say free, but it also says 14 day trial below it. In the Terms, it does say 39.95/mo after the 14 day trial. In order to cancel, you have to call 1-800-231-8664, and they will send you a confirmation of cancellation with not charging you. The thing about trial periods, I've learned as a Home Telemarketer for a good company that does pay which is West Corp.(with a trial, you have to cancel BEFORE the trial period is up) Now, for order problems from MyDollarshop.com, the phone #1-800-644-7944{ext.124}, you probably only got half your order because it may have been back ordered, or someone took it through the mail,or at your door. You do have 30 days to return what you did get as far as 1/2 of it, but you do have to pay Regular Shipping, that is the only thing I don't like about that. Also, the other bad thing I don't like is you don't get commission until you sell $100 worth of products. So unless this company cleans up more, and improves, I will not be coming back to it.

I find that you place an order with this business, they charge your credit card for the total order and only ship a partial order. What can we do to put a stop to this practice. I've told my customers to report them to their bank and a hold on their credit card charges. I've done the same thing. Do you have any further suggestions?

I was checking out this site, I even read the terms & agreement. When I got to the part about the $39.95 per month, when I saw this I refused to agree and clicked out of site. Next thing I know my checking account is over drawn and my husband and I are arguing about the checking account. I had no idea that they had charged my account. Also, you should be able to try for 14 days before they take out of your account. All I want to do is work from home, make extra money not spend it trying to make it. Is there a work from home job without all the fuss? If I had money to start a business/work from home I wouldn't be looking for work from home!!

I fell for this scam a couple months ago, I didn't even know that they were charging me until i found out my checking account was over drafted. They wouldn't stop taking money until I finally canceled my checking account.
