About TrackR Bravo

TrackR Bravo is the slimmest and most effective item tracker available from TrackR, a company who says that once you order one of their products, you will "never lose anything again."

How Does It Work?

TrackR Bravo is a small device, about the size of a coin which attaches to valuable items people are worried about losing or misplacing, like keys, phones, and mobile devices. Once you've attached the physical trackers to your items, you download the app to your phone or computer and you can easily locate your chosen items whenever you need simply by clicking a button.

In addition, if you lose an item outside of your home and outside of your personal tracker range, TrackR Bravo uses their Crowd GPS system to help you find it. If anyone connected to the TrackR network gets within tracking distance of your lost item, the location will ping and you'll be alerted to its whereabouts.

Mobile Options

Currently the TrackR app is available for both iPhone and Android devices, as long as you meet their requirements which are listed as: iPhone 4s & Later, iPad 3rd Generation & Later, Android 4.4 & Later with Bluetooth Low Energy.

Cost/Price Plans

A one device pack currently costs $29.00, while a two device pack costs $49.00, a five device pack costs $95.00, and a ten device pack costs $99.00.

Refund Policy

The website does not publish any available information for Refund, Guarantee, or Cancellation Policies at this time. Customers who are interested in a paid membership and are curious about this policies should speak to Customer Service.

Customer Service Contact Info

Reputation

In general this product seems to get positive reviews both from customers and users and from third party independent reviewers and technology publishers.

There are some other available tracker products and mobile applications on the market at this time, including the well known Tile App.

Scam scam scam

Reviewed By Merri Ann Langhorst on October 8, 2016

I ordered directly from the TrackR website instead of on Amazon (always reliable) solely because they had a "buy x and get y free" deal. Mistake. They have not shipped my order nor changed its status from "being processed" in nearly a month. They are literally not answering their 800 number (they say as much on their outgoing message). The only possible mode of communication is by email to their "support" team, who are supposed to respond w/in 24 hours. There is never any meaningful response, only an automated one saying how gosh darn busy busy they are, what with the huge popularity of their products. I've emailed them several times and it appears that they've decided to stop sending me even the automated messages. They have now blocked me from posting or messaging on their FB page because I made several negative comments and publicly demanded a refund. (They've deleted my posts.) I've been left high and dry, and there are many more like me check their FB page. Their CEO was interviewed on Paul Kemp's "The App Guy" podcast. I contacted him to see if he had an in with the CEO. All he had was the guy's email address, so he reported my problem to him and forwarded him my email describing it (this was before the FB blocking). So I know the head of the TrackR company knows my name, my contact information, and that I want a refund.

Don't bother - waste of money

Reviewed By Paul on October 8, 2016

It doesn't work. Simple as that. If you are lucky enough to get one to pair with your phone, it will lose the signal very shortly afterwards and struggles to reconnect even with the phone and trackr right next to each other.
I didn't even bother contacting the company, having seen the reviews above. I did however buy a new set of batteries, just in case the problem was low power, but even with brand new batteries installed it just...doesn't.....work.

* * * * SCAM * * * *

Reviewed By Andrew on October 1, 2016

I have written 5 emails on the TrackR website and several to the support team email (support@thetrackr.com) regarding a return and refund. Nobody is writing back to me. I purchased $68 worth of the trackers. They aren't working. Just yesterday, the app notified me that the batteries are depleted! The devices are just 2 weeks old! I've called the phone number "(800)-850-9104" and a recording tells me to email the support team. I private message TrackR and it has an auto reply to email the support team. I'm beginning to think this whole thing is a scam. There is absolutely NO customer support. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Go ahead and Google "TrackR scam" and you will see several posts about whether the TrackR device is legit or a scam....guess what. Don't get bamboozled like some of us did!

I am therefore going to file a refund request through PayPal.

Order never arrived, support unresponsive

Reviewed By Lawrence on September 1, 2016, llaferla@gmail.com

I ordered a product from TrackR over a month ago. Still hasn't arrived. So, I contact DHL and they respond right away to say that they have no record of the tracking number that TrackR gave me. DHL says contact the vendor. I then opened a support ticket on TrackR four days ago. Still unanswered. The lack of any response so far is what I find irritating. I try contacting Trackr, but no luck. The Zendesk support ticket I filed with them has been left unanswered by Trackr support for nearly a full week now. The online chat says that now is not Trackr's office hours, even though it's currently mid-morning in California. Then I try phoning Trackr and get a recorded message that says they're soooooo busy, so please open a support ticket on Zendesk and they'll get back to you within 24 hours, which is not true, obviously. There is no possible way to reach a human being. So, they take my $134.97 and they don’t deliver anything. Shipment can’t even be tracked. They don’t respond to support tickets. They don’t respond to email. They don’t respond on the online chat function on their website. They provide only one phone contact publicly, but if you dial that you get that recorded message with the lie that they’ll respond within 24 hours. It’s demonstrably a false claim. If they take our money and we get no delivery and no support, they don't have much of a business, do they? I mean, however clever their engineering, however many VC backRs they get, they’re still only as good as their ability to deliver. Am I right?

Don't Waste Your Money

Reviewed By Heather Fairfield on July 19, 2016

I was one of the original backers, and cannot even get the app to find my keys when they are sitting less than 10 feet away, in plain sight. NONE of the Trackr's I received from the company are working any better (and we sent in enough money as backers to get 10 of them!!!). I've complained on the company's Indegogo page repeatedly - to no avail. At one point, I complained on the main Facebook page for the company and a rep contacted me. He said that the problem was that the original batteries weren't strong enough to run the product, and that they'd send me out some new ones ... that was months ago, and I've received nothing. (New batteries do not seem to last even two weeks after being installed ... and that's *without* using the product to try and track any of your things AT ALL during that time frame.) The devices simply do not work, and the company is spectacularly uninterested in replacing them when they don't. At roughly $30 each, that's a pretty crappy customer service policy to have.

It's disheartening when you were psyched enough for a product that you financially backed its creation, only to be completely ignored by the company you helped when the finished products that they shipped to you don't work.

Oh ... and I'm apparently blocked from being able to comment on their main Facebook page now, since I complained before. I don't WANT to be complaining! i just want the product to work, or for them to send me ones that DO if this batch was defective!!

Great idea, poor execution

Reviewed By Stupidspencer on July 19, 2016

I didn't actually buy a TrackR, nor am I affiliated with the company. But I would like to explain how it works without the requirement of a cellular data network subscription and ongoing payments like typical trackers. I think knowing how it works and therefore why it doesn't work for all these other people is more useful information than a review.

The problem with this device is the lack of users. And with all these crummy reviews, I doubt TrackR will ever develop enough of a user network to work well... or work at all. Unlike traditional tracking devices, TrackR does not have a built-in GPS or a cellular data transmitter. All it has inside is a bluetooth radio and a piezo-electric speaker. It works like this: When somebody with the TrackR app gets close enough to your TrackR to receive its bluetooth signal, the TrackR app on that person's phone send's their phone's location along with your TrackR device's unique ID (MAC address) over the data network to TrackR's server. The TrackR app on your phone checks the list of device IDs on the server and sees that the TrackR device ID that you previously registered with the app is in the list and downloads the location and time information associated with it. You aren't actually getting the location of the TrackR device, but rather the location of the person's phone that was close enough to pick up its bluetooth signal. So you go looking for that location and, once you are there, now you are close enough to pick up your TrackR's bluetooth signal. By monitoring signal strength, the TrackR app on your phone can now guide you the last 40 feet or so to the TrackR device in a "hotter/colder" kind of way.
Its a great idea, but doesn't work because there aren't enough people with the TrackR app out there. If only the TrackR app was embedded within Pokemon Go! I'm sure it would work great since it seems like everybody and their mom is playing that right now!

No, Spencer. That is not why people (me included) are upset.
I did not care for the "crowd search" function, especially as I was perfectly aware that such a system would never work in the rural parts of southern Sweden. Before ordering I also understood that the possible search area was within Bluetooth 1stGen distance.
I just needed something that could help me locate my car keys hidden in a overall pocket, my wallet between the couch pillows and my house keys forgotten in the fridge.
THIS DOES NOT WORK as the batteries dies after a few weeks instead of approx. one year as stated. Also as the battery meter in the app constantly shows full battery, even after the die.
Customer service ignores any complaints!
I had to wait for almost a year for delivery which ment that I could not use the Ebay return policy either!

HA - I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM!! YOU ALL PROVED IT FOR ME :)

Reviewed By Theprofessor4lyf on July 12, 2016

(On Crowd GPS)
Ha! I KNEW this thing couldn't POSSIBLY work!!! The nano-technology required to make something the size of a quarter connect to WIFI & other signals would have this thing costing $500 - $1,000!! But for $30, and at that size, there's NO WAY they could have enough tech in there for it to send a signal STRONG enough to reach a cell phone or TOWER... and connect back to my phone from MILES away.

In addition, If it bounces off other users, how many people REALLY have this device?? Maybe a few thousand nationwide??
Considering that... your chances of finding your stolen car (or mate lol) with it (even if it worked) are like 000.000.001% lol.. Because the next closest user is probably about 3,000 miles away!

You would have a better chance finding it by riding around on a bicycle and looking for it with a flashlight. lol

So in the future, I would advise all to CONSIDER THE TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE TODAY!! Your cell phones represent the highest levels of wireless tech available to us today. So look at it's size and battery life. size of your hand, battery lasts 1-3 days depending on usage.

Now look at TRACKR ... size of a quarter, and the battery lasts for (18 months???) even though it's CONSTANTLY ON AND SEARCHING FOR SIGNALS?? and it's only $30??? or BUY 5 AND GET 5 FREE?? This is the equivalent to the (PET ROCK 2016 - ver.2.0) :)

LOL - Come on people, you shoulda known better than that!

You don't seem to know how this works. It's not a scam, but I agree that it's not going to work for most people. Unfortunately, they market this thing in a way that people don't actually understand what it can/can't do.

It only has one radio signal: Bluetooth Low-Energy. It's not pinging cell towers or WiFi. Bluetooth Low-Energy is a very low-power signal, so yes, this thing can last a year on a battery, since it's only sending out occasional BLE signals.

However, you are right that this is never going to work to find something that's gone missing or been stolen. It depends on crowdsourcing, and will only find something if someone happens to walk within 100 feet of the device, and happens to have the TrackR app running, and the crowd-GPS function turned on. With such a low user base, the chances of that happening are slim-to-none.

So, scam? No. Waste of money? Absolutely.

September 19, 2016

The only difference between a "SCAM" and something - as you say - "Is NOT going to work for most people".... is if the manufacturers KNEW that it would not work as advertised, but promoted it as being able to do all of this stuff anyway. Well, no one can convince me that the inventor of a product doesn't know the limitations of their invention.... which puts it in the "Scam" category!

The device is not marketed with all of those limitations you mentioned and that everyone is experiencing - or - of course - they would not have bought it. Same thing just happened with that program "Mackeeper". It's promoted as being able to do all this stuff, but the users confirmed that it could not deliver. A class action was filed and they had to pay millions out.

I think the inventors of this product are on that same road now.

Simply doesn't work as described

Reviewed By Ursula on May 27, 2016

I bought a pack of 5 (+5 free) and have tried 3 of them - on my own phone and two others (different brands, different systems); I contacted support and did exactly what they suggested - for hours.
I was realistic about what a blue tooth based gadget could do regarding reach - but the trackr simply does not beep when triggered via the app - at least not reliably. Every time I installed a trackr, it worked the first 2-3 times right after installation and then stopped. The connection worked (if close enough) but the trackr didn't beep any more.
I just decided that I will stop wasting my time on this and have asked support for a refund - will tell you how this works.
Overall: what a shame - would have been a great idea.

I Cant Believe I Fell For This!

Reviewed By unhappy customer on April 20, 2016

Dove in on the deep end. Ordered 8.

Supposed to arrive in 2 weeks. Every time I contact Support, they say two more weeks again. Going on six weeks now

Each time they tell me my order "just went to the engravers," who will need 2 weeks to do the engraving.

At the same time, they claim my order cant be refunded, because it has been sent to the engravers.

This is not rocket science. If it were legit, a simple call to the engravers is all it takes to cancel - Being as they cant engrave my order for another two weeks.

Over a week ago, they sent me a PHONY USPS tracking number, and told me my order had shipped. When the tracking info proved phony, they said again my order was at the engraver, who needed another 2 weeks.

Safe to say this is a scam!

Nice idea. Great promo. No integrity

LIARS AND SCAMMERS!.

Scam

Reviewed By Ed Orr on April 15, 2016

I agree with others on this website that this company is scam. At the very least they do not deliver on their promises. In my case I was promised delivery in 2 days like others and communication with them was difficult. Here is my email to them today:

I communicated with you on April 13 via email below. On April 13 I also communicated with someone named Daniel via online chat from your website. Despite your failure to locate the order Daniel was able to find it. Daniel gave me a USPS tracking number which indicated on the USPS website that “The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 12, 2016 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if/when available”. I checked yesterday on the status of the shipping and the notice was the same. I checked again today and the notice was the same. Since you promised delivery in 2 days and I ordered on April 10, 2016, I assumed that I would receive your product by April 13, 2016. Today is April 15 and I still haven’t gotten the product and there is no realistic indication that I am ever going to receive the product. I tried to communicate via online chat again but your website online chat window indicates that you are “offline at the moment”. You will remember that I needed/wanted your product by today and now that deadline is passing and it is almost certain that you will not meet that deadline for reasons unknown but I suspect the reason is that your company is a fraud, you are scamming folks and stealing from them. IF you actually have a product and IF you actually deliver it then I’m sure you will immediately take care of all the folks that have complained about you as recently as March 2016 http://www.reviewopedia.com/trackr-bravo-reviews. Don’t bother sending me the product because you have breached your agreement to deliver it to me in 2 days and therefore I don’t want it any longer. If you send it to me I will send it back. Please credit my American Express card.

The claims Trackr make are a complete con.
The range is pitiful. 10 metres at best, much less if blocked by walls. The sound is too feeble to be able to find anything lost. The app drops the connection and has to be manually reconnected. It never warns of separation from the phone or vice versa. Finding a lost dog or bike as they claim is utterly impossible. The crowd GPS is the biggest con though. The chance of someone being close enough, then finding it, then you being alerted to it is smaller than the chance of me getting to the moon.

This products is the worst. Crowd GPS, same as NOGPS. Such a rip off. If you use this product you better be no more than 10'feet from your lost item for it to work, and at that distance, who needs the product. They sell you a $9 crappy plastic cover for the tracks fir your dog collar which looks like it will last a week if that. Not too mention if your dog were to get away from you (hence the reason for the need in the first place) you would never find your dog because of the Trackr would not connect if your dog was not near your phone. What. Freaking ripoff. I am so upset and furious that these guys are being allowed to conduct business through reputable vendors and delivered by reputable sources! Shame on Trackr!!!
