Web Club International
Web Club International is a company that
offers a complete package of a custom built
website and marketing and advertising tools
that will help you sell. They also put
a lot of emphasis on the fact that they will
drive traffic to your website.
The first thing that caught me by
surprise is that there are no screen shots
of the type of websites that Web Club
International provides. I understand
that they build custom websites but they
should at least have pictures of some of
their best work like the majority of site
developing companies.
From the customer comments that I was
able to find they were mostly negative.
People complained about a lack of refunds
and poor technical and customer support.
Also the price range for their services
seems a bit excessive, with some folks
spending over a thousand dollars.
I don't understand why people would use
the services of Web Club International when
they can get better services for a tenth of
the cost. For instance you can have
Site Build It design a site for you that
is hosted and ready to sell, all based on
your specifications for under 300 bucks.
There are tons of companies that offer
pre-fabricated, copy cat, or custom websites
and all will make similar promises and
guarantees. Thus, its important to
identify what kind of business you want to
start and go from there. That's why I
like
Site Build It so much; they focus on
teaching you the skills necessary to develop
a sustainable online business even if you
lack the technical know-how.

2008. In the course of a couple months I had paid
1100.00. They were supposedly in cahoots with
amazon.com, betus and hotels.com. The lure was
that once everything was in place, I would make
thousands and thousands of dollars as new internet
customers were added. It appeared to be completely ligitimate as they claimed to be
partnered with amazon, betus and hotelclub. There
were reports that you could look at to see how much money you were making. I never made any
money except an 18.00 check that never appeared on
any of the reports. Why they even bothered to
send me anything, I will never know. It amazes
me to think that legitimate businesses like
amazon, betus and holtelclub would even have
anything to do with them. I recently called and
their phones were disconnected. For all I know
they might still be in some kind of business.
If this can somehow get to the right people, I
hope that they get burned like they did to me.
Thank you,
Daniel Boxrud |
Gilmourgirl canada | 5:29pm on Monday, June 22nd, 2009 | Here I am June 22/09 still no reply from webclub I let the BBB. know how awful they are. I was cond Jan.4/09 for the sum of $4049.00US I am paying 18% INTEREST on $5000.00CAD. on my visa thanks to webclub. Not only will they not take my calls, they had the nerve to tell BBB that they tried to call me to resolve the issue. Resolve this issue WEBCLUB I'm now having to SELL MY HOUSE as the checks are not coming in like Bob Stevens claimed they would. I have know way to pay this very large bill. With a interest rate this high I have know choice. So here is a big Thank you to webclub and there wonderful team. I'm sure it was a pleasure doing business with me, shame on me for believing that webclub sold me a online business. |
Gilmourgirl canada | 7:26pm on Monday, May 11th, 2009 | I'm back again I forgot to tell you Bob Stevens sold me a $3900.00 US pop up banner campaign real traffic. I wanted a part time online business they took my savings and were happy to do it. Bob Stevens will not even answer my calls any more. I have now spent more money with a reputable company to try to recover my money I told webclub I wanted to change my home page {because it sucked} signed a waver with webclub to get the codes and Mario sends me back the form that I already signed, Mario tells me in a email here are the codes you need to change your home page. That was on Thursday it is now Monday and still know reply. I have never felt so disappointed in man kind, how can you people sleep at night knowing you are just taking you for a ride. The best part is on the email that was sent to me that my codes to change webpage attached a old email from a customer saying if you don't call me back asap I will cancel my membership and ask for my moneyback. Not a good sign can you believe it. |
William Palomaki Wisconsin | 5:18pm on Monday, May 11th, 2009 | These people are THIEVES!!! Do not give them your money. They tell you that they will make you money but in reality they only fake the advertising that they say you have to get in order to make money. I only lost $400 so I consider it a small learning curve. But, it could have been worse. Good luck trying to contact them after they have your money. They will NOT, LET ME REPEAT, THEY WILL NOT RETURN YOUR CALL OR YOUR MONEY! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY |
Gilmourgirl canada | 3:55pm on Friday, May 8th, 2009 | How many people want to strangle Bob Stevens. I've never had anyone not sign back up. I got screwed Jan.4/09 it's now May and nothing. How can they show stats for your site with the numbers they show 9000 a month and not ONE person spent a cent. Why do they not return phone calls? It took two weeks and many unreturned phone calls to get a banner updated that was old when my site went up. They took alot of money from me for pop up banner campaign, only to find out that my website was just out there dead basically. Patience they tell you and they are quit willing to just let you hang thinking that they are working for you. My site was not even ready the first month they make it sound like they are working so hard and it's complicated. You have no chance to even ask for a refund they make sure it takes a month to get going for that reason. The real kicker is the website I purchased is $300.00 they only took $150.00 and when you make $3000.00 you pay the other half. I had to go with another advertising co. to try to save my site and my return. If I happen to recover my money back I will have to give them $150.00. I think after the excessive amount I paid for with know results to think I may have to give them more, Bob's lucky I live in Canada. |
Ty Beachler Rio Rancho, NM | 2:24pm on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 | I am a contractor in New Mexico and with the lack of work in this recession decided I should look into alternative income sources. One way or another Web Club International found me and they talked a great game. I was sold on there ideas and maketing strategies. Paid $298.00 for the sites and $1950.00 for the 120,000 guaranteed hits to my website in the first year and 10,000 in the first month. 3 months later 1 hit, o pennies earned and I think the 1 hit was from my daughters computer.
I feel lied to, cheat, robbed!!! |
New Victim Union Point Ga. | 11:33am on Friday, April 3rd, 2009 | I am a disabled person and I fell for this scam because I need money for doctor bills and added income. They called once, I sent them $298.00. When I did not return the paperwork I was called by a woman named Missy. She assured me that I was wrong and that asa they go $1,500.00 more for search engines and pop up ads. Now, I can not get anyone to respond to me. I do not know how to go about getting my money or even if I can. I was upfront I told them I was sick and I desperately needed this to work. Missy assured me I could trust her so I sitting here like a fool waiting for her to send me the much needed information so I can work on the website. The way I see I got a website for $298.00 and the $1,500.00 was just thrown to wind as I have no way of know what search engines were sent or how many pop-unders they sent out. I am sicker than I was before I got in this situation. If my husband finds out what I hve done will probably want to take over affairs. He may figure that since I'm sick I'm incapable of handling my money. I do not understand why someone does not do something about these people that prey on others. It is stealing nothing else. |

carlos howard fitzgerald,ga | 10:28pm on Friday, February 13th, 2009 | you right it is a scam and i was promised that i will have a certain amount of traffic going to my site which i was told that by david ferra. god sits high and he looks down low and he see exactly what is going on.and all i got to say is they have to give an account on judgment day for there fraudulent and scam-full actions. |
stacey M.B | 7:53pm on Thursday, February 12th, 2009 | I was recently victimized by this "web club international"..but after a few days iv read a lot of negative things about them., so i decide to give them a call and asked to speak with there manager and she said that, thats who i was speaking to so i asked her for a refund and told them i did not want to be apart of this so cal business and that its a scam..and then she goes on saying really rude things to me calling me ghetto and a lying b**ch, idiot and such.. so i started yelling back at her, telling her not to speak to her customer like that and pretty much lipped her from there..and apparently she says that she is going to sue me for cursing at her..but that is understood considering they ripped me off, i think!..so when they call tell them to f**k off and go to hell. |
Jill Whittall Calgary AB | 1:11pm on Thursday, February 5th, 2009 | Web club international, a rep called Jill Scott called me and asked me to listen to a recording- half way through I had by now read negative reports on this company and decided not to waste my time any more and hung up. This lady rand me back and I told her I didn't want to continue having a conversation with her, she told me I was a very rude lady and should get off the internet I had to hang up on this person who just wanted to shout at me. What a way to conduct business. |
Anon Location unknown | 4:29pm on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 | Their rep called me and I realized immediately that is was simply a company selling web e-commerce sites, which I've done. total bogus promises. been in the business for years. told the rep no and he told me to go F myself. i hung up. they called back saying I said it and I told them i would never enter into a business arrangement with a company that conducts business like this.

Totally Ripped Off Pittsburgh | 6:22pm on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 | I was conned into the first $400.00 and then some advwertising guy comes on and says I need to spend five thousand to advertise. I screamed at him but still gave him $400.00 more. What an idiot I am. Haven't made a sent. |
Della Polvado Austin, Tx | 1:28pm on Friday, December 19th, 2008 | Web Club International is a scam!!!! I had a site and after the first 30 days was up my site was not up anymore they say they will refund you before 30 days is up. But then after the 30 days my site was down I called and called them about it but no one ansered and no on returned my messages either. So then I was like it's a scam and trashed all the paperwork I had on it. Yes I know I was stupid for doing it but then after my 1 year was fixing to be up I start getting renewal postcards in the mail and I start calling as if I wanted to renew which no I just wanted to speak with the manager or owner about getting my money back I then got hostile with the guy because he was saying my site was still up and running and I'm telling him no it's not and then all the sudden I start getting called a liar, an idiot, all kinds of things that a buisness should not say to their customers. "The customer is always right" phrase does not pertain to them obviously because I get called all kinds of potty mouth things and then they try and turn it around on you saying they wouldn't call me things if I didn't start with them. Which in all actuality they started it so I went on and cussed em out wouldn't you? The managers names are supposedly Mario Johnston who in return after being hung up on and cussed out then tried to have the audasity to ask me what I look like. And Helen Wate even if these are their true names, which there probally not. She called me the idiot saying I don't know how to use a computer which I do. Tried to say I'm an idiot because I said yall. She tried to say it's not a word I should of said you all so then I said I'm from Texas and we say yall she then preceeded to call me a redneck hillbilly. Which of course anyone not from texas would say. I have never had this happen to me talking to "buisness" if you would even call it one. Suppose to be managers and their cussing you out telling you your wrong and you know their wrong. Warning do not get involved with this company, wait a minute WARNING DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS SCAM!!!!!!! Oh and the customer service rep by the name of Kim will get rude with you to if you call back from another number and act nice to her to try and get some info on the owners and see if you can speak with another manager. Then she'll go off on you and say thats why the other ones went off on you. And I was trying to sweet talk and be nice to get some more info outta her cause I didn't talk to her yet. And she'll hang up on you. |
betty melton raymond ms. | 11:19am on Saturday, November 15th, 2008 | a man called said was going to help me and send me a id number but never did |
Helen Elder Tampa, Florida | 2:44pm on Friday, June 20th, 2008 | Web Club International takes advantage of people by promising to work with them to make money until they get your money. Then they are no longer available. I spent $5,000 with them for internet advertising. (OK, call me STUPID) but
their smooth-talking account executives are very
persuasive. I do not know how they can look themselves in a mirror or sleep at night. For that $5,000 I was promised a hugh number of traffic to my website. I did not expect to get rich, but I assumed that with that number going to my website that I would make some money. NOT!! I did not make one penny, and every time that I tried to call and find out what was happening, no one was available to talk to me. I was finally able to pay off that credit card that I used, but I will never trust anyone else again.
I know that there are legitimate businesses out there, but they will not get my money because of the fraudulent practices of companies like Web Club International. Just to name a few of the people who cheated me, I remember Richard Dean,
the one who "sold" me, Joshua, Mike, Keisha, Ken.
In case you are dealing with these people, I hope
you will be smarter than I was. |
disgusted victim of webclub East Coast | 10:45pm on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 | I was victimized by this company two months ago, November, 2007. The account executives were able to convince me to invest $199.00 which I negotiated from about $400.00. It was a very stupid decision that I made. After two days of research, I found the negative comments about Web Club International. I tried to cancel and got my money back from my credit union. But, after 2 weeks, WebClub came back and charged my debit card again and got their $199.00 back.
I never used my site nor do I intend to waste time with counselors. They convinced me to get back with them and be fooled. WARNING!!! WEB CLUB INTERNATIONAL IS A SCAM. Do not get involved and waste your time and money. |
ex employee Location unknown | 4:07pm on Friday, December 21st, 2007 | Web Club International ex employee apology...
As an ex employee of web club, i have to ask forgiveness and apologize. web club is not a scam you can make money. but what they fail to let you know is the amount of money it takes to make more money. A website is free to build on yahoo or msn. web hosting will cost you about fifty dollars a year, and your domain name registration can be done on godaddy for less than nine bucks, you can also go to affiliateprograms or freeaffiliates to get hooked up with numerous companies offering these programs for free. web clubs tech dept is one guy, their web developer is one guy, and they use godaddy for the names. With more than 12 sales representatives (account executives) in the company, what do you think is more important to web club, your success or theirs? So i sincerely apologize, for i will never again work in any kind of sales again, my conscience cant take it any longer. You can still make money if you are a client just do a lot of free advertising and dont pay the advertising coach (which there is only one) any more of your money. that's where they get you. |
