Simply Click to Profit is a work at home opportunity offering a “guaranteed and proven” way to make money from home.  Marilyn Chambers, spokeswoman for Simply Click to Profit, promises that for a one time fee of $47.00, she will give you the training you need to become successful in an online business opportunity that is “virtually a secret.”

However, as you read through the sales page you discover that the business opportunity is simply listing and selling items on eBay for a profit.  This job opportunity is commonly referred to as an auction listing agent.

What Is An Auction Listing Agent?

An auction listing agent lists products on eBay for more than they paid for them, in order to make a profit.  Commonly, these people use drop ship warehouses to provide their items for them.  A drop ship warehouse allows you, for a monthly membership fee, to sell items that they provide, and the warehouse takes responsibility for packaging and shipping the items, so you don’t have to.

Auction listing agents do not have an easy job, however.  The business of auction listing requires you to pay money up front to the drop ship warehouse, and then compete with other auction listing agents for customers.  This is what we call the “race to the bottom.”  The agent that lists the product for the least amount of money is the one most likely to get the customers, but then you must sell an extremely high volume of products in order to make a profit.

Unfortunately, no.  Simply Click To Profit is not a legitimate place to purchase a business opportunity for a list of reasons:

1. They are selling you an opportunity that is free.
2. They are not offering you any information or training that you couldn’t find yourself for free.
3. Their payment page is not secure.

First, Simply Click To Profit is going to direct you straight to Doba, a well known drop ship warehouse, to get your membership and access to the products you will be selling online.  You don’t need to pay $47.00 to a third party to get access to Doba.  You can just go straight to their website and sign up.

Second, the information offered by Simply Click To Profit on auction listing isn’t any more sophisticated than the free information available both at Doba and in the eBay forums.

Finally, their payment page is not secured.  The URL to their payment page is not “https:” and they don’t have security symbols and encryption seals on their payment page.  A lot of non secure payment pages will provide fake symbols and seals, going through the motions in an attempt to make you feel secure; Simply Click To Profit doesn’t even bother.

Entering your credit card number on a payment page that isn’t secured is a terrible idea, and is putting you in significant danger of identity theft and credit card fraud.  Even if Simply Click To Profit had seemed promising until this point, a non secure payment page would be reason enough to walk away.

According to Stephanie Stackhouse, their spokesperson, Fortune 500 companies who sell products on eBay require people willing to work at home to list those items for them, and will pay you up to $5 for each item you list.  Since listing items only requires a few minutes, you could easily earn a liveable salary from home.

After determining whether or not there are positions available in your area, you must fill out a simple application to see if you qualify for the eBay Auction Listing Agent training course.  If so, then all that’s left is a one time fee of $97.00, and you’ll be enrolled and ready to go.

What is an eBay Auction Listing Agent?

That’s a good question, and if you are looking to the Home Career Agency for the answer, stop.  Their website is purposefully misleading in multiple ways on this question.

First, they imply on their sales page that you will be working with Fortune 500 companies to list their products for them.  This is untrue. Instead, you’ll be working with a drop ship company to sell brand name products being currently stored in a warehouse.  You will list the item on eBay, and the difference between the wholesale price and the price it sells for will be what you are paid.

Which brings us to the second issue: you will not ever be paid to “list” an item, as claimed by the website.  You will only ever be paid when an item sells.  This is obviously much different.

Bottom line, an auction listing agent works independently earning commissions on sales made through eBay.  The items they sell come from drop ship companies, and in order to become a member of a drop ship company, you must pay monthly fees, which is never explained by Home Career Agency.

The Problem with Home Career Agency

Besides the fact that they purposefully misrepresent the job opportunity and fail to tell you about all the extra costs included in pursuing it, HomeCareerAgency.com has more problems.

Their whole website is full of fabrications.  First, they attempt to tell you there are a limited number of positions available and that you must hurry or you may miss out.  This is false.  As many times as you return to this website, there will be positions available for you.

Then, they ask you to fill out an “application” to see if you qualify.  However, you could leave the application blank and just hit submit and be brought to the next screen where – surprise! – you qualify and are now allowed to pay them $97.00.  The fake application is meant to make their training program seem legitimate, though they are obviously willing to accept anyone’s money.

Finally, their payment page isn’t entirely secure.  Though they have text throughout the page reassuring you of the security, the reality is that these are just pictures placed on the page – you can’t actually click on the security logos and find their certification information the way you should be able to.  This means that your credit card information isn’t guaranteed to be secure, which is a definite sign to walk away.
