Welcome to part two of “7 Ways to Make Money Online”. Glad you’ve made it this far! Here is our continued list of make money online opportunities…

#5 Get Paid to Write…

Writing is one of the easiest ways to make money online; with the massive growth of the internet there’s never been more demand on the internet for writers. Websites are always in need of new content and they’re happy to pay for it. The best way to find at-home writing work is to become a member at some of the many freelance websites and forums specializing in this type of work.

Not only can you find short term work, but if you do well and impress your employer a small gig can often turn into long term or even permanent employment.

Another option is to submit your content to websites that offer revenue-sharing opportunities. They will provide you with the platform to host your writing on, and in return for your work, they’ll split any ad revenue that your articles generate.

With the revenue sharing option you get more leeway in the kind of content you can write and will earn a percentage (approx. 40-50%) of the ad revenue that your articles generate.

As a traditional freelance writer, you’ll bid on jobs and get paid a predetermined amount for a specific amount of work. Click here for our complete list of Writing Job Websites.

#6 Micro Jobs…

Many companies are outsourcing simple tasks that, for one reason or another, can’t be done by a computer. These “micro jobs” can range from specialized tasks to basic actions that a computer simply can’t handle, such as appropriately labeling photographs for example.

There are many routes that you can take with this type of work. If you have a skill set for specific tasks such as web-design then you don’t have to focus on just the basic jobs. There have been many huge design projects that have been done through the use of the micro job model.

Due to their success, there are quite a few websites that offer this type of work. Everything from answering a question to submitting a design, or to helping name a new product or website.

6 Tips to a Successful Online Business

January 21st, 2011  |  Published in Make Money Online

Whether you’re trying to make it as a professional blogger or affiliate marketer try following these six tips to get the most out of your online business.

1. Offer Value – This has to be the most important factor in any online business, not only do you have to offer your guests something of value whether it be information, a tool, or advice it has to be better and different from what they can get elsewhere.

2. Build Relationships – If you’re serious about working online this is a must. Building relationships with your visitors is crucial to building trust which is the basis for any potential sales. Try offering something for free to your guests, but make sure it’s a solid product and not just another 2 dollar eBook.

3. Find Information – Always be on the lookout for new developments and technologies that can improve your business. Online traffic is the building block of success, thus you should always be striving to increase it. Although be wary of the latest and greatest, focus on building a site with tons of original content instead.

4. Perform Testing/Tracking – Once you begin to see an increase in traffic and sales it’s vital to start tracking everything. You want to track, where your sales are coming from, which advertisements are converting, and most importantly what’s not working. You may be hesitant about paying a monthly fee for a tracking service but take my word for it; they pay for themselves. Once you start launching more efficient campaigns you’ll immediately see the difference in your profit margins. I use Aweber as an Autoresponder and for tracking.

5. Use Repetition – This is a no-brainer, and the reason why tracking is so important. Once you see what’s working do it over and over again. If you find that one keyword is showing significant sales spend time on keyword research and try to find a similar one. This will also help you narrow down where you should be focusing your energy.

6. Use Time Management – The irony is that the most appealing aspect of a work at home business is also your worst enemy. There are a plethora of distractions at home that can have you waste away entire days. To avoid these pitfalls try a couple things. Develop a work week schedule that you and family members will respect. Have a plan of action for each day; this will keep you focused and productive the entire day. Finally, limit distractions such as television or unnecessary web browsing.

Lockerz.com Reviews – Legit or Scam?

December 12th, 2009  |  Published in Business Opportunities, Make Money Online

Lockerz.com is a members only site where you can gain points – or pointz (PTZ) – for shopping, playing games, watching videos, or any other online activity you might be interested in.  You can redeem these pointz during “Lockerz Restock” days for a variety of prizes, including large scale in demand items like video game consoles.

Lockerz is the brainchild of Kathy Savitt, formerly an executive at Amazon.com, and is run by Liberty Media, the company that runs Starz Entertainment and the home shopping channel QVC, Inc.  Currently, Lockerz is an invitation only website, though you can find links to receive invites from many other websites, including the Lockerz.com site itself.

Is Lockerz a Scam?

Lockerz is a basic “points for shopping” website, where the site makes money from advertisers and sellers eager to take part in their market, and Lockerz maintains and expands this market by allowing their members to redeem pointz for prizes.  Lockerz.com is receiving a lot of criticism from people who are angry at the limitations of the site, including the first-come-first-served basis of awarding the prizes.

However, this doesn’t result in a “Lockerz scam” scenario.  The truth is that Lockerz is still in its pre-launch stage, also know as “working out the bugs.”  Their networks have been overloaded a couple times, and there have been some issues with slow response times to customer service inquiries, but Savitt and Lockerz.com claims that they will have these issues worked out before the full site is launched.

If you choose to join the site right now, you may be in for some frustrations as Liberty Media tries to work out the kinks, but once Lockerz.com launches its full site, there’s no reason to believe that it won’t function just as well as any other “points for shopping” website.
