Global Test Market

Global Test Market (www.GlobalTestMarket.com) is a fairly established online market research panel. They have participants from nearly 200 countries contributing opinions in return for cash rewards. Over the years they have maintained a solid reputation and have an impressive, 5 million plus, membership.

Similar to other survey companies Global Test Market will send survey invitations to your email box. This is why it’s important to use a valid email address when you register with them. Upon completion of a survey you’ll be rewarded with market points which can later be redeemed for cash.

At the current exchange rate 1,000 points will earn you fifty US dollars which is also the minimum cash out level. The good thing about Global Test Market is that they reward loyalty and the more surveys you complete the more points per survey you will get.

The company pays out by checks in US dollars, this can be a slight inconvenience for non US residents, but nothing too serious. After reaching the appropriate level and requesting payment it can take up to two months to receive your check.

So far I haven’t received any complaints regarding non-payment issues from Global Test Market members. The only downside is that it can take several months to reach the fifty dollar minimum cash out point. So I would recommend using this company in conjunction with another income stream.

Best survey site I’ve tried! Started about a year ago and have earned over $350 in Amazon gift cards. Yes, you get screened out of many surveys, but if you stick with it, the points add up.

Ordered my $50 Canadian Tire gift cards 2 months ago and still have not received them! Customer service is no help. They just tell me to wait another 2 weeks.

Surveys are fine, but no point if you never receive compensation for your time.

    IT’S A SCAM

I’m not the only one who think this, read all 184 reviews on
opiniepeilers.nl (biggest survey detectives of Belgium and the Netherlands).
They are rated VERY BAD in the category of PAYMENTS.

I,myself, got my first 60 dollar cheque too late, so i could not cash him. They did not answer my complaint, i stayed on , hoping for a solution. They took away my 8000 points and reduced to 3775 points on 6/4/2014 whithout reason !!!!

please don’t use them, they work really unfairly! I tried to redeem points for my first voucher (had more than enough points) and was told that I have to reach 1000 points to earn my first £10 even though I had well over what the requirement is/was. They are really deceitful! I recommend trying others and steer clear of this lot!!! They are just using/exploiting people, it’s disgusting!

I´ve been a member since it started (many many years). GTM Used to be very very good, but something´s happened since a year or so. -It´s getting worse and worse. -A new owner or something´s made it really really bad. It´s now as bad as Toluna – e.g screen outs and/or LONG – sometimes more than an hour – surveys with endless questions giving a ridiculous reward. -Stay away!

They used to really good, I reached about 4000 points in total and got paid 4 times of $50 but now I don’t get my money. What I think is, is it’s one of these sites that have a lot of money to spend with the site, that includes, cost of the website every month and paying everyone but then they ran out of money and they aren’t paying up then they start to send you emails to send them money and stuff.
I got this email about 1 week ago.
they said to me that I need to send them $400 to keep my account running plus another $20 to host my account plus $200 for all the people who are keeping my account running. My first thought was This is a load of crap, why on earth would you need money to keep my account up and second there isn’t no host for a account WTF. At the bottom of the email was a P.S and it said to make your deposit enter your name street address, age, gender, credit card details such as all numbers at the front, and the CVV, CVV2 number. I was like WTF!! I’m not going to send you money, I have about $6,000+ in my account so they would take it all out. One more note is that I re-sent a email stating I don’t have a credit card, I got a reply saying, “Sorry about that, your account no longer exists” I went back to my GTM and I entered my email and pass and it said “Email/password doesn’t exist” So I made a new Email account and signed up again but the scary thing is after I activated my account I got a email back from them about 30 minutes later saying again that I need to pay them $400 to keep my account, the same amount of money with my old account, I was like WTF!!

i have been a member of gtm. for about three years, i have received three $50.00 checks and almost have enough points four my forth. gtm is not a scam site. if you want to remain members of these sites you half to answer questions with honesty otherwise you will not receive e-mails from them for surveys. this is the problem with a lot of people, they answer untruthfully and after a short while the companies notice their patterns and that is why people are removed from survey sites. gtm is one of the best.

I usually received my checks of $50 about 3 to 4 weeks after redemption. This time they introduce more redemption gifts and now the points for cheques is not 1100. I reached that and requested a cheque but did not received it, even though I send emails about it, no response. I thought I read somewhere that it was taken over by another company, I am not sure but it must be true because of the changes they made.

My account No. is 19456783. On 14th April, 2013, I had submitted redemption request against my earned 1000 market points which was duly acknowledged by e-mail to me from Global Test Market. Since then till today, the 8th September, 2013, it has been more than 120 days but I have not received my check of $ 50 (fifty dollars) or equivalent amount in Indian currency. In this context I have sent more than 30 e-mail letters/reminders to Global Text Market for resolving the issue immediately and sending my overdue check on priority. During the above period as responses to my e-mail letters/reminders, Global Test Market has been sending automated e-mails giving assurances that their customer service representative will be resolving the issue and sending the check. But neither till today neither any action has been taken nor dispatch of check or receipt of check at my end.
I request Global Test Market through my above message to take up priority action to resolve the issue and send my overdue check. Such good gesture and action would surely restore my confidence and trust in Global Test Market for mutual win-win forever. Regards.

It looks like a scam to me. I had sent redemption request on June 1,2013. Even after 16 weeks I have not received USD.50.00. According to the survey panel, they are sending the checks in 8-10 weeks. As it is, it is a long process to accumulate 1000 points; and now time they take form redemption- 16 weeks? A cruel joke on the panel members who spend their valuable time completing the surveys and still do not get paid. The whole world uses PayPal to pay instantly and here we are, going back to the stone age by sending physical checks.

This site has a VERY poor system when it comes to redemption of the points that you work hard for – you now MUST have 1000 points and then ONLY can you redeem at the check out. You must also redeem a minimum of 1000 points which takes AGES to accumulate via this survey site. A lot of people have complained directly to them VIA facebook but I believe that this is falling amongst deaf ears. Great looking site and heaps of survey invites if you fit the category however very very poor redemption system – I have recently requested a redemption and will see how long this takes – as there has been a lot of comments on Facebook about people not receiving their money owed for the surveys completed.

I’ve been a member for several years of Global Market. It USED to be great. I would get checks (even though they’d take a couple months to get to me) for pretty large amounts a couple years ago. Now, I get about a dozen emails from them daily to take surveys and NEVER qualify. Half of them only give you sweepstakes entries anyway (no points). That would be forgivable (maybe my demographics changed so much that I don’t qualify any more, although the only thing different is the degree I hold and the amount of money I make) but I’ve timed how much I spend on each survey and it averages AT LEAST 20 minutes before I’m told I don’t qualify. That’s atrocious and they are the only survey site out of about 20 that consistently subjects me to that. If I respond to the surveys, I waste several hours a week getting absolutely nothing but sweepstakes entries and I can tell you that in about 6 years, I’ve never once won. I once took a survey for 1 1/2 hours that I was told at the very end I screened out of. I contacted their support team and demanded some points for my time and they responded repeatedly (after several days) with form letters that showed they never read my email and never gave me any points. I was furious. This is standard business practice now – take up about a half hour of someone’s time, record all their information, then claim you screened out at the end so they don’t have to pay you. It’s a terrible scam now and they should be shut down for fraudulent business practices.

I recently joined Global Test Market and I have to say that thus far everything is good. I have 70 points and at 220 points I can redeem for a $5 gift card to Amazon.

I received between one and three surveys each day. As with any survey company, you need to be legitimately interested in the content and answer them appropriately. The completion of a full profile will also increase the amount of surveys you will receive (much like iPoll, Opinion Outpost, and Swag Bucks).

Most of the surveys take about 10-20 minutes and the sign up process is very easy, as with most survey companies.

They have always paid me. The checks take 4-5 weeks and are slow but I have always got each one. This company is honest and offers a lot of surveys. 50% you wont qualify for though.

They just introduced perksplus as a way of getting your rewards instead of just checks, but in the process they diluted the value of the points. Before a week ago, 1000 points would = $50. Now through perks plus 1150 = $50, so you took a 15% dilution.

Also, they kept the minimum cash out at $50 so you cant cash out $15 or $25, you still have to wait to $50.

Good company, good rewards, always pays, but I cant say im happy with the points being worth less now..

This is a legit survey company. I joined sometime in February 2013 and accumulated 1000 points by march 27th 2013. I requested the check which is $50 for 1000 points (average survey is about 60pts). I just received a check today and cashed it without any problems at a currency exchange. The only reason I didn’t give a rating of 5 is because they send out checks which can take some time to get delivered. They estimate between 4 to 6 weeks for the check to arrive, mine came 3 and a half weeks after, so not bad but they could get on board with technology and use paypal. I participate in 3 different survey companies this one (global test market), (mysurvey), and (opinionoutpost). These are the only 3 I would recommend, they do not try to sell you anything and actually I’ve received things to try out too from global test market (paper towels, dog treats, lotion). And for those who are wondering what my demographics are I am a woman 34 yrs old, single, no kids, white. I do agree that sometimes I don’t qualify for all the surveys but that’s normal.

    Very Serious Website.
I do surveys in French and in English ( I’m French). If you’re selected for the survey you can earn 30/40 points ( 1 point is 5cts in $ )
Then after a certain amount of points, you can redeem it in cash, or give it to the red cross or something like that.
I’m a member since 2007/2008 I think. I use my lost time to make surveys, I did like maybe 300 surveys and earned like 200$ in five years.. :) Its not that bad!
I also received some products at home to test, like perfumes, or food. Once I had to try the fryer that fries without oil.. Of course, it didnt fried anything, but that was fun and I earned 15$ ( But I had to eat shitty fried potatoes for 2 weeks.. ( not everyday, dont be scared.. ) )

I am SO annoyed because this happens fairly regularly. I have complained and sometimes they send me the points but sometimes they don’t. Will see what they do after this latest problem.

I also am frequently screened out, which I can understand, but when you spend more than 20 min answering questions and then get screened out, I consider that fraud.
I also have complained several times. Only once, just last week, did they reply and gave me my points.
I have cashed in 2 checks, it does take quite some time to get them. Now it is 1100 pts to get $50 check.
When I receive the last check I requested last week, I am quitting. Presently I am just deleting their surveys. Just too many occasions that I spend more than 15 min and get screened out.

I joined a number of months ago and submitted a request to be paid when I had a little over $100 to be paid out. It’s now over nine weeks later and there’s no check, nor a response to my inquiries about it.

In the time I’ve been taking the surveys, I’ve found customer service to be pretty quick to respond, so this is frustrating. I have another $100 in points that I haven’t yet redeemed and am watching surveys go by because I don’t want to spend any time doing them if this all turns out to be for naught.

I find it inexplicable that they won’t do paypal payouts like other survey and rebate companies – paper checks that take over two months to arrive within the US are dinosaurs!

They get a fair rating because I received a lovely product to review through a survey with them so even if I haven’t received a check, I have benefited by a couple of hundred dollars.

If they would change their payout method and make a paypal payment within a few days, they would get a 5 star rating but until I actually see money for the time I’ve spent helping their research, I can’t fully recommend them.

Please be aware there is in fact a scam using Global Test Market’s name and issuing these false checks, but that is not Global Test Market the market research company. It is a con artist using their name.

I have been with GTM for some time and have always found them to be fair, honest, pay when and as promised and have no complaints. They have surveys available almost daily and their customer service, while not stellar, is still better than most.

The only complaint is that I would like to see the payment process speed up a tad. It currently takes US residents up to 6 weeks from requesting cashout to receive a check in the snail mail. But you will receive that check and be able to cash it, and it’s not difficult with the amount of surveys they have available to reach the 1,000 point ($50) cashout minimum on a regular basis.

GTM does send out invitations based on your activity level. So if you want to get more opportunities, you have to be active and take the surveys. With all survey companies will have screenouts and for those you will only get an entry in the prize drawing, they no longer pay a disqualification bonus in points. But persistence pays off.

You will not get rich, you will get paid.

I just got a similar letter from the Global Testing Market located in Stamford, CT. with an enclosed check in the amount of US $1488.00.

The first thing I noticed was their strict stipulations on how to go to the bank for the Money Pap assignment on which they could get $681.00×2.
In other words, they are directly asking me to go and still from the bank and send back the $1,362.00 to them. This lacks logic but drew a red flag and slap to my intelligence.

They can call themselves anything in the globe they like, as far as I am concerned, they hold the wand as “SCAM ARTISTS” group companies. They should be investigated and exposed more.

I cashed out when I reached 2000 points next. That was September 2012. Date today is 5 March 2013. Its been 7 months. Everytime they say they would have to resend the cheque. I gave them 3 different addresses to deliver to. All 3 addresses receive deliveries from all over the world with no issues. Now they say that they will not be sending me anymore cheques, as 3 is the limit. So I will not be paid! What a waste of time. I hate you Globaltestmarket

Have been doing Global Test Market surveys since Sept 2011. Lots of screen outs etc., but gradually accumulating points. Am now at 960 (need 1000) to get paid – will only due that thru PayPal. In the last three months have probably got about a dozen technical error responses (and they tell me to make sure I have their email address as a favorite, etc – after 2 1/2 years, yeh, I do). The rest of the surveys had screened out on me – looks like the plan is to never let me get to the 1000 level and get paid …..
Better ones to join – Asking Canadians – immediate payment of ever survey and even token amout for screen outs – in HBC points that can be used for shopping in their chains of stores or online / or converting the points to AirMiles or Essos Points for other purchase formats. AirMiles also sponsers a marketing company that immediately pays in AirMiles as each survey is completed.
Will advise the final outcome on Global in the next couple of weeks.

Dont know if GTM is good or not, but here are a few issues I have with them.

    1) They ONLY send a check once you get to 1000 points or $50. Most surveys pay 35-50 points so You have to do 20 surveys at least before a cashout, assuming some dont qualify (usually the case), thats a lot before a single cashout.

    2) Their check purportedly takes 4-6 weeks to arrive. Thats ridiculous. For amounts under $250, nothing should take longer than a week. Its unnacceptable to do work for someone then wait weeks for any payment.

    3) They should have other payout options, not just check. Paypal can be funded by moneypak or bank transfer. Why They cant have paypal is ridiculous.

    4) Theres a recent video on youtube showing someone showing his check from GTP, so they at least pay sometimes, and they are known as a company that does business with big companies, so my gut tells me they pay most of the time (I would hope).

The biggest problems are the cashout limit is at $50, so you cant “test” them to see if they pay out first before doing 20-30 surveys. Also, i would NEVER wait 4-6 weeks to get payment. Thats BS. So theres no way im going to continue doing surveys with them until they send me my money within 5-7 days, by paypal or something similar.

You should have an option for check but only if you WANT to wait 4-6 weeks and even thats ridiculously long.

Last October(2012)they sent me a check for US$100 which was dishonored by the bank. I asked for a replacement check and they promised me one – but did not send it. I kept writing to them (politely, mind you) but they refused to reply. Earlier this year (2013) I accumulated another 1000 points – so I asked for another US$50 check – you guess it – no news so far!
I have filled out full surveys for them the last 14 months and got nothing in return!!

This used to be a reputable company that pays – but it is NO longer! They are having serious cash flow problems.

Too much time wasted for ZERO rewards, “screened out” of surveys when mostly completed, too much personal information required/held in your registration surveys and some are not able to complete…. just hang waiting for the next page to load (all registration surveys are also unpaid).

There are MUCH better sites out there for you to give your time and experience to… ones that reward for “part completion” and not just enter you into a prize draw….. be sure to check the reviws before you sign up to any (I didn’t… learn from my mistake!!)

Waste of time and effort! The surveys are alright however, it takes ages to get to the 1000 point pay out. Once you get there you convert the pints over you wait… and wait… for a check to arrive in the mail.

I get the check and only to find out it cannot be cashed. It ends up being a 3rd party check that most if not all places want nothing to do with. Not worth the risk to either be fined for a bounced check or even be went after (the law) for cashing a bogus check? So I took my opinion elsewhere. Only thing I lost was my time and effort to get to the 1000 point mark. What a disappointment!!

I have been a member of Global Test Market’s panel for ten years now and have never had any problems with them until I tried to log onto my account to check my points recently. I received a message telling me that my account was no longer valid!

Now, I know that I hadn’t resigned, so I messaged them. Their reply was that they had sufficient, overwhelming evidence that I had been using multiple addresses to fill out surveys. I was shocked, it is something I wouldn’t ever and have never done. I am a member of several other companies because I love filling out surveys and receiving points/cash for doing so. I asked them to look at it again and heard nothing.

Yesterday I emailed them again asking why I was still receiving surveys if my account was suspended, please would they reinstate it, because I had done nothing wrong. Today I got a reply…or i thought I had! It was just my e-mail to them with a best regards at the end! So I filled out their customer service questionnaire and emailed them again asking what the outcome would be!
So, for ten years I have been loyal to them, had cheques without problem, and now I’m cast out for no reason!

For everyone thats stating it’s a scam. It’s definitely not a scam, at least not for me. I live in Sweden.

I have received 5 checks over the past 4 years, each on at least $50. Today I got another one. Takes almost 2 months to receive them. I took out 2012-02-26 and received it 2012-04-10

    See:

    Transaction Date MarketPoints Amount
    2012-02-26 07:22:49 1035
    2010-12-21 11:08:11 1015
    2010-04-22 14:37:27 1025
    2009-06-27 08:54:22 1015
    2008-08-19 11:12:00 1005

I even moved to new address in February 2010 and still I received my checks in new address. This may take some while to get to 1000 points, but if you lucky you get them. As you see I got 5 checks in less than 4 years! And now I’m up on 310 points already. But I got lucky to get 2 surveys over 2 days worth in total of 200 points! And they took over 30 minutes each to do.

So no this is not a scam, trust me!

You are so right, Lauren and Jayne! In my experience it is almost impossible to finish a survey because new surveys pop up to distract you from the original. I am not permitted to proceed unless I give personal info to the new survey and am taken down a garden path, away from the original survey I thought I was taking. I have never seen anything but promises for drawings and offers for free stuff. My inbox is full of offers for new surveys that behave the same way. I don’t know how they can trust any info they get in this way since people will start to say anything to just get on and finish! If all they want is for the boxes to be checked, run the surveys through random number programs and use that. It would no doubt serve the same purpose!

My recent experience with GTM has been quite distasteful. I live in the very urban city of Navi Mumbai with a designated and valid address that is used by my banks, credit card companies, overseas relatives. Indian Postal Services for delivering magazines and newsletters that I subscribe to and also by courier companies. Now GTM tells me they failed to deliver a cheque as I had an “undeliverable address”. (Strange indeed as if I lived in some other planet!!!) This happened twice even after providing them the same address in their required line format and I was informed that if the cheque cannot be delivered the third time, payment will be forfeighted. I smelt a rat here and have now provided a relative’s address (as option given by them). I waited for 10 weeks at the first instance, another 10 weeks the second time and will now have to wait another 10 weeks, in case payment materialises. Waiting over 6 months to get a piddly Rs. 2000/+. I am disgusted and feel duped.

Yes, I REALLY was being cheated. I wrote three times, giving the survey numbers and saying that I was verified as having completed the survey. I got robotic answers. I saved three screen shots of surveys that proved I completed the questionnaire, but was told I was screened out. I told them that I was going to a blog to report them. We get little enough for the time spent on surveys (and takes long enough to reach the required 1,000 pts to collect, which they are also thwarting) then to have them cheat you is intolerable. I warn all: you are at their mercy for taking advantage of you. There are surveys where you will no more get points for your time, then getting a meaningful answer from customer service.

I’ve had the same problem – surveys completed, a problem on their end, and complete lack of recognition/acknowledgement on their end of the issue. Their correspondance is crap – won’t even reference the issue. Disdain for their survey-takers.

I’ve been a GTM member for 1 year and I have almost reached 1000 points. How? Well, listen to Mr Smart, and be smart! Example: you read that the survey is about Disney Paris, and you’ve been asked if you are married or if you have teen-age sons or daughters…No matter if you’re unemployed, single, or lodging in a caravan… answer: YEAAH! I’ve got a wonderful wife, two kids and I earn not less than 50000 bucks per year! Magically, you’ll qualify for the survey! Be smart! Twist your status’ answers according to the brand or sector the survey is about! You’ll get to the end of you’ll get points! Good luck!

I’m lodging a complaint against globaltestmarket and against globaltestmarket client service.

I’ve completed 2 surveys: 215109 and 214174. From beginning to the end! The first was about digital cameras, the second – about chocolate. I’ve spent 40 min on first survey and 1 hour on second. But in the end I’ve got message “The survey is closed”. They owe me 75 points! But they acting like robots!

That message – “The survey is closed” – I’ve got not BEFORE, but AFTER I’ve completed those 2 surveys. And I hadn’t even a one chance not to spend those hours I’ve spent on surveys. THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM – that is a problem of organization of their system. I’ve done my gob, so they should do theirs – they owe me 75 points!

Nobody will work with globaltestmarket on those terms!

I’ve spent about 10 years with globaltestmarket. Now I’ve wrote and sent about 25 – 25! – letters to their custom service, on two languages. I’ve told about the problem, but got only two messages from “robots”, named Olivia and Histina: “Our system shows, that you haven’t completed the surveys” and “Hi, Unfortunately the survey has closed. Sometimes surveys require only a limited number of responses per category, for instance, from a region or age group. Once these quotas have been filled, the survey is closed. We look forward to your future participation. Best Regards, The GlobalTestMarket Team”. I’ve told them, that there is a failure in their system; I’ve sent them screens of messages, that I’ve got on the url, she sent me to check the problem – with words “You’ve already passed this survey” – but they just don’t hear me.

This site is an absolute scam. It is a waste of time. The surveys are poorly designed, are too long, and at 99% completed the survey screens you out so they never have to pay you anything. I have taken 39 surveys and was screened out of every one of them, sometimes after filling out a survey for as long as 60 minutes. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!

So they screened you out of the surveys you were taking, and yet you persisted taking the surveys? 39 of them? THIRTY NINE!? I’m sorry but that strikes me as pretty dumb. How many times do you have to get hit in the head with a falling rock before you decide to put your hard hat on?

And anyway, this whole business seems a ridiculous waste of time for the money you get. People say they spend 45 minutes or an hour on a survey, for which you get 75 points. And you have to get 1,000 points to earn 50 dollars. At my reckoning that’s about $3 an hour. Get a job at McDonalds or something.

Completed 1000 points in Nov’11 and sent a redemption request then (fingers crossed). Just received a letter a couple a days back which was addressed to me and said that if undelivered please return to a Canada address (I live in India, Mumbai). Was wondering what could be from Canada? Opened it and Wow!! it was a cheque worth Rs. 2522/- (50$). Was so happy, they gave it in INR so no hassle for me. The cheque was drawn from Citibank.

The last year I have been stuck at 885 and every survey I get either freezes up, doesn’t load, gives an error message or after spending 5-10 min. answering questions I am not qualified for the survey. Yes I believe they get the answers they want and just don’t want to pay. I have also noticed I am getting a lot more spam email about enlarging male anatomy and other emails. Since the email address I used for this survey is NOT my main email I am quite sure the junk is coming from GTM. If I ever get to 1000 I will try to cash in and then stop.

GMT have morphed from a genuine market research company, willing to pay reasonable money, into just another company where you screen out, and are offered a “prize draw”. There is a real ageist element to the screen out, or “survey has been completed”. They clearly are ageist, and must have clients who share the same philosophy. I am not surprised at all the negative feedback. These guys, who had an honest business – sharing genuine market research fees have clearly gone bad. Their clients should be binning them, and the unpaid fees should be subject to legal action.

The Fill it Up USA site keeps stating there are no surveys at this time. Now when I go to the site and try to contact them or complain in my case I am redirected to an error page. No site found! RED FLAG! They seem like a legitimate company, but I was signed on with them for a month and failed to qualify for any surveys. I made no money and had a zero balance in my account. I am 63, and therefore probably not in the best demographic, but I qualify with other survey companies. You know, by the time you have filled 6 to 10 screens of information in a survey, a company has already gotten some useful statistics from you, and it is probably worth money to them even if you do not qualify for a specific survey. It is frustrating to start survey after survey only to be told after 10 or more minutes that you do not qualify. Considering that all companies ask you to fill out profile surveys at the beginning, that is unacceptable.

I cashed out my points in April and never received my check. I sent them a note in June about the issue, so they had me reconfirm my address and claimed they were sending out another check. The check never arrived, so I sent another message. They replied and said that my address is undeliverable and to provide a new address.

This is the worst reasoning I’ve ever heard because I know for a fact that my address is not undeliverable. All of my mail gets to me on time and without issue, except for GTM mail, which I’m guessing they do not actually send out. The customer service people cannot confirm if they even attempted to send the check!!

They said that they will only try and send the check one more time and after that, they will never try again. This policy is not stated in their terms of service or FAQ. I gave them a new address for a relative which also receives mail without issue and lodged a complaint against the company with the BBB.

I am going through the same experience. You will never receive an explanatory reply from them but just a stereotyped message from a robot advising about an “undeliverable address”. That is really preposterous in these modern times. The robot communicating with me is Victor. Does that name sound familiar?

They were a responsible Company at one time as I did receive 3 cheques from them but now somehow, either greed has taken over or they are on the downward spiral or already defunct!!

Stay away from this survey site. It’s dreadful. The surveys take such a long time and some aren’t even worth any points, even when you fully qualify. You can take a survey for 20-30 minutes and get screened out, which is absurd. Not to mention the surveys that malfunction right when it seems you’re about to reach the end. You don’t get any points for these or for trying. The customer service is quite bad too. They’re slow to respond, and it doesn’t seem like they actually read what you’ve written. They just give a canned response at random!!

I live in New York, it should not take that long. 50 bucks is 50 bucks though, I tried to cash it at the check cashing store and they said you have to deposit it in your bank. GTM needs to fix this, b’cuz I ain’t feeling to put nothing in my bank account. P.S. It took me 2-3 weeks to reach 1000 points. You guys just don’t know how to qualify for a survey.

Nah Global Test Market is wack!

I took quite a number of surveys, quite a lot might I add just to get to the minimum $50 payout threshold I think.

Once I got to that threshold (took months @ only $1-2 per survey) I took all the normal avenues to claim my check. Needless to say my check never arrived!!! I was a bit angry at first but to be honest I just couldn’t be bothered chasing down that measly 50 bucks.

Still some of the claims of earning $15-25 per survey is way exaggerated!!! And if you have got/get these surveys, I can guarantee you that they will take a whole day to complete. I got a $15 or $25 dollar survey and guess how long it took… get ready for it… 3 DAYS!!! That thing was a monster!

My advice stay away from these online paid surveys. You will be working well below minimum wage x10! And then there’s the possibility of no recourse should you not receive your check. There is no return on investment (ROI) for the time you put in.

If you are looking for ways to make money online, you’re better of just starting a wordpress blog or something and writing useful/helpful tutorials, then generate money from it through advertising or something. You’ll earn a lot more than the pittance you slave for.

    Wishing you all the best.

My previous comment way back in April:
“I started using this survey site back in January and finally got 1000 points!! Their surveys take a lot longer than surveys from other sites, and you don’t get points for screening out, which is awful. But, I just cashed out my points and requested a check, so hopefully it will arrive in the mail. Though they did say it would take 4-6 weeks, which is a really long time. Oh well.”

It has been over 6 weeks and I still haven’t received my check. I contacted GTM and got a response 4 days later saying that they need to re-process the check and send it. I have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks!! Thankfully, I stopped taking their surveys after I claimed my supposed reward. Hopefully, the check will actually arrive. I don’t think GTM is worth the time. They are a pain in the bottom.

I started using PCHOnline Surveys and earned $20 for Amazon.com within 2 weeks. I got the $20 immediately after cashing in my points. YAY!! Try that one, they’re surveys are shorter and you actually get rewarded. No points for screen-outs though and some surveys are worth nothing. You can skip those if you’re attentive.

I was invited to a survey that was described as 20 minutes long and worth 45 pts. I was screened out after spending 15 minutes on it, and after it was almost 90% complete! I emailed the customer service to ask if this was a glitch. Their response was that the survey had strict criteria and that I experienced a long screening process. I find it hard to believe that 90% of their survey is comprised of screening questions.

I feel like this was done so they don’t have to compensate me for my time.

I have been paid by Global Test Market before, however after I was finally paid I closed my account. They scam you right out of your time and money. Many times I would be 10-15 minutes into a survey and then all of a sudden I didn’t qualify. It wasn’t after a quality control question either because I know to keep an eye out for those. Several times the percentage complete meter will be past 90%, then a so called glitch occurs and there’s no way for me to get paid for the survey or all of a sudden I no longer qualify. I have memberships with other survey routers and if they forward me to Global Test Market I automatically just give up on that survey. I have even made it to the congratulations page and not get paid because that congratulations page magically turns into a “Sorry, you didn’t qualify for this survey”! Stay away, far AWAY!

I believe they got the information they wanted for free. Also way too many technical problems — all occuring, suspiciously, after I had answered many many detailed questions. Again, I think the technical problems are allowing them to get their desired info for free. I would not go near this outfit (Global Test Market) if I were you…

Global Test Market is totally legit! The amount of surveys will depend on how much information you provided with them. The more info, the more chances of receiving survey invitations. Before sending invites, they will check your profile first to see if you are qualified to answer the survey. Also, even an invitation has been sent, there’s still chance of getting drop once they have figured that you are not fit to answer the survey, but you will still earn 5 market points though for that particular invitation.

Honestly, I haven’t earn from them yet, I don’t receive that much invites (because I did not lie to my profile and claim I am this and that just to get as many invitations as possible…hehe). The last time I heard from them was on Sept. 30. I have already accumulated 165 points, still have a long way to go, but I can say Global is worthy of your time.

all you need is a little patience. I started doing this site in 2008 when their payout was 500 points for $50. I just redeemed 1000 points in July 2010 expecting to get a check for $100, when all I received was a check for $50. So I guess its 2000 points now for $100. It takes me at least 6 months (if I do all the surveys in my inbox immediately) to earn 1000 points. Most surveys are looking for a person of a certain age, race or gender to fill their quota. So I don’t think that is fair to call it a scam just because you got screened out of a survey.

I’ve earned about $500 in the past 2 years, because I’m patient, take a little time out of each day to complete the new surveys, update your profile surveys a couple times a year and learn to fill out the surveys correctly so you don’t get screened out.

I belong to about 3 or 4 survey sites and when I first started with Global Test Market, I was very excited! They gave a lot of opportunities, and while I screened out more often (it’s like they don’t filter their surveys) it still felt like I had more chances.

The first issue I had was the sweepstake surveys. I didn’t mind them until I started taking them and they seemed to take as long, if not longer, than surveys for points. It seems with most survey sites, the less they offer, the less they usually ask for time commitment. So with no points, just entries, I’d figure they’d be a quick 5-10 minute survey. No.

The next issue I had was the screening out process. With most survey sites, you give a few demographics, you answer 1-5 questions, at most, and very simple questions at that, and then you’re either taken to it or screened out. With GTM, it seems I had to get through 20 detailed questions that made me think I was already taking the survey until I got screened out. This seemed like a scam – get my information then screen me out. I’m sure there are some marketing companies out there who have gotten their research from us for free just by screening us out after getting just enough information.
And when I am screened out, I hate the language they use. “Bummer – you’re screened out, but you’re still the coolest!” I’m not 15 – don’t talk down to me.

My last straw was last week. I got a survey, started it, was told I was being taken to the survey, filled it out, took at good 20 minutes on it, was told they needed demographics to finish up, I filled that section out, was directed back to GTM’s site expecting my 35 points or whatever to be credited, and instead I got a screened out notice. I was livid!

I e-mailed customer service about the error, but they confirmed I was screened out. I hated that afterward, without giving me time to dispute or anything, they just mark it as resolved in a second e-mail. I know they offer you a chance to dispute then, or even rate their service, but don’t tell me it’s resolved; tell me if I don’t respond in a certain time it will be marked resolved. I’ve never seen customer service do that.
So I disputed, got a second e-mail back saying they further researched it and I was screened out, so I asked them to send me the survey again. Computers don’t always know everything (believe me, I work on them all day), I’ll take screencaps of the survey, send them back and prove my case.

You know, I didn’t expect them to let me do it, I didn’t even expect my points, but I also surely didn’t expect them to copy and paste their last response! I was done – they screw you over with points, screening and then provide no support.

Hard to get market points because they will not let you qualify for any of the surveys. It is like they want to collect the information and then towards the middle they kick you out because you do not qualify. I was honest the entire time until I got kicked from several surveys in a row so I decided to change my answers to what they wanted just to see what would happen and I still got kicked out.

This site used to be much better than it is but it is still a legitimate way to get a few extra bucks. They used to give you 5 points even when you screened out of a survey which was very nice. “Here’s 25¢, please try again.”

I have been a member for about 5 or 6 years and have received 7 or 8 checks for over $50. With the 5 points for screening out the checks used to come much quicker. I understand the financial reason for removing the 5 points, I just wish instead of removing it they would have reduced it to 2 or 3 points for trying a survey.

They do not, however, try to keep you from getting to $50 and cashing out. They are not a scam just not a get rich quick scheme.

Some people seem to think it is a scam because they have screened out of a lot of surveys. I frequently screen out of 10-15 in a row and then suddenly qualify for 2 or 3.

If you want a few extra bucks give it a try. If you are easily frustrated and in a hurry to get paid then look elsewhere.

During the initial months with Global Test Market, there weren’t much problems but as of 2009, the surveys got lesser and harder to qualify for. The points allotted are getting miserable too. Some surveys are so lengthy and we only get up to 35 points. Another complaint I have is that after completing a lengthy survey, at the point where I’m supposed to be directed back to the Global Test Market page, it never goes through. Therefore, I will never be credited for my work. This has happened a few times and when I wrote them about it, they said they can’t do anything about it. GTM is now just a waste of time!

I participated in this for some months, accumulating 565 points. At that point I found that I seldom qualified for surveys and got 0 points even when the decision that I didn’t qualify only came after quite a number of responses. (Earlier it seemed like I usually got a few points if I did anything at all.) They’ve started giving you an “entry” in a “sweepstakes” instead. I’ve been stuck at 565 points for a long time (months). Today I just finished answering a host of questions about bottled water, only to get a “survey quota filled” message followed by yet another “sweepstakes entry”. I’ve essentially wasted a great deal of time for $0.

What makes me angry is that i completed several and they asked me to put my account number in at the end and my password and kept saying there was an error. so no points for some long completed surveys and no costumer service to actually help find my points. also they used to give me 5 points for all the surveys i didn’t qualify for and started, but now 0. some long surveys that i do, i’m not only given 3 chances in a sweepstakes that i will never win. i have been here for months and i’m stuck at 700 points. i have done about 40 surveys this month and only received about 30 points. &*#! these guys. i’m just so sick of people trying to screw each other in this world, trying to get something for nothing, lying to people. the sad things is i would continue and they would have a loyal research participant who really pays a attention and tries to be helpful and insight full. i’m sick on them and anyone/any company who resorts to these embarrassingly sad tactics.

There is no way someone can make 1200 dollars on this site. Once you reach 900 points the surveys stop coming. I got one survey it said I completed it to click here for my reward and then it said I was ineligible! After 30 minutes of wasting my time saying I completed it. This happened twice. LOL cash out 1200 every 2 months?! Must be someone working for GMT. Just look at all the posts there are a handful of positives. I contacted them on both occasions and only one time they emailed back to forward them the email saying they would give me points but they gave me a stupid sweepstakes entry. I forwarded the email and they never contacted me back. So I went to the BBB and I haven’t heard anything from the BBB either. I finally got to 1000 and it took me to get from 900 to 1000 just as long as it took me to get from 0-900. Now that I redeemed my points I’m getting 3-4 surveys again. I will not be wasting my time with this company again.

I had a similar experience to Mabbline, Alabama where they suddenly turned my account off. I wrote them and asked what I had done to deserve this. After a few days they wrote back and said I somehow violated there terms. I wrote Gabriella a personal note telling her it was impossible that I had done this and I heard nothing back. Then suddenly about 2 months later I got a note from her saying it was a big mistake and that my account was back on and my points restored. I promptly redeemed them and am waiting for the check. I do enjoy the surveys and had never redeemed for cash (until now) we shall see!

I had 1000 points, and requested a cheque. After about 3 weeks i got an email there had been an error, so i mistakenly got double points. the cheque would be canceled and the points put back into the account. Several weeks later i did not get the cheque nor the points

I have been a member with this panel for a long time now and for awhile it was a good panel to be in. Then out of the blue I was no longer able to log in. I tried for days and couldn’t. I emailed them and was told that I was kicked out because I had more than one account. I do not know where they got that. I only have one account. I had just requested my $50.00 and think this was a way for them to not pay me. They said my account had been froze and I would not get my money that I had worked hard to earn for almost a year. I am very angry with this company. They are a fraud. They out right lied when they said I had a double account. There is not way under the sun that this is true. Is there anything, I can do about this?

Been with GTM for nearly 3 years now. I have never experienced any of the problems listed by the people below.

The frequency of my survey invites remain constant no matter how many points are in my account. I have always received my payment within 4 to 6 weeks as GTM promises.

Now they have had some technical issues with their website and surveys from time to time, but GTM always sends an email notice explaining the problem, and sometimes awards bonus points for the inconvenience.

I to do not qualify for every survey, but they still award points if you do not qualify. Every other survey company just offers a sweepstakes entry when you do not qualify. GTM all the way!

I can relate to a lot of the gripes i read here about global. I’ve been a member for a few years. But i have to say when it comes to cashing in, I have never had a problem getting my cheque in the time frame they say. Comes like clockwork. But as far as getting well into a survey and only to be told, YOU DONT QUALIFY..makes me very angry. Total waste of time. Also, yes i agree, you get close to 1000 cash in points and pffft no more surveys forever. But i wait. Sooner or later one comes that im qualified for. I’ve made 3 or 400 dollars from this site, and i figure its worth the hassle. (so far) One point, and i dont know if this makes a difference or not but i always cash in soon as i hit a 50 dollar payout.

I have been participating with them for about 8 or 9 months. It’s annoying b/c I keep getting the same surveys that told me I don’t qualify, so then I don’t get any additional points. Though sometimes they’ll give me 5 points for trying. I am doing a little research to find out if I should keep doing this! Thanks everyone.

GTM is the best. Been a member for over 2 years and have cashed out every 2 months for a total of around $1,200. Visit the blog and see they are legit. They are the only survey company that provides updates like they do on the blog.

I have been a member for several years and have cashed in several times. Yes it did take awhile to get the cash but the last time it was June. Now recently I had enough points to cash in (1035). I got a confirmation letter and then weird stuff started to happen. All of a sudden I had 925 points then 50 points then 900 points then 25 points…sometimes all in the same day! I contacted the company three times so far. I get an immediate response saying that I will be contacted within two days. Then I get a grammatically incorrect standard response that they are looking in to it signed by various people with Russian sounding names. It has now been over 6 weeks since I cashed in and I am angry!

I have been using GTM for over a year, and have managed to earn $150 (£75 GBP). Compared to many other websites, this one sends you invitations regularly, with acceptable rewards and, generally, I have no problem with them.

On the other hand however, when it comes to surveys being cut short at the end, resulting in no reward, I have had MANY experiences of this happening. This has occurred at least 15-20 times within the last 6 months, and most of which have taken 20-30 (sometimes even 45 or more!) minutes to complete.

When I contact GTM about this, I either receive a generic response (the usual… “there must a problem with your internet connection”, or ” you used the forward/back button on your browser, which resulted in the survey being interrupted” – none of which are true), or you receive no reply at all. They will completely ignore you almost every time you contact them, so you’re even lucky to get a response at all.

They have cheated me out of at least $50 in the last 6 months alone which is completely unacceptable and fraudulent (they always ensure they have enough information to submit to the companies employing them, then terminate the survey claiming that there was a technical error, so they can get away with not paying you.)

I am currently in need of as much extra cash as possible (as I’m sure many people taking part in surveys are), so I am reluctant to cancel my account, and it’s this very fact that GTM will play on. They must remember that without us they wouldn’t have a business at all, however whilst there are people willing to put up with it, they will carry on as they are.

Please do not accumulate your points for a bigger cash out. In May, I redeemed 8000 points (400 USD) and right after that I stopped receiving surveys. After a few failed communications with them, I posted message on their blog. They replied to me saying that my account was closed due to quality strikes and that they were not bound to disclose the exact reason for quality strike. I have been a member of GTM for three years now and it’s really upsetting to think that they closed my account just because I requested for a large amount of reward at a time.

I’ve been with Global Test Market for some time now and I haven’t qualified for a lot of the surveys that they’ve sent me. It could just be because of the way I completed my personal profile. At this rate it might take a year to get enough points to cash out, but, it’s still fun and easy money. If you’re into survey sites, this is a decent one.
