Home Internet Jobs Reviews – Legit or Scam?
Home Internet Jobs (www.HomeInternetJobs.org) by Kelly Andrews is a website that promises folks a new business opportunity. She claims that she can show you how to immediately start making money from home in any economic circumstances.
After you read the sales page, which describes how Kelly miraculously came across Home Internet Jobs and is now using it to make a fortune, you will get to the real business opportunity.
HomeInternetJobs.org is just another website pitching the “Auction Listing Agent Certification Program.” This work at home opportunity has been previously featured on many websites under varying titles and with different spokeswomen.
What websites like Home Internet Jobs do is simply act like a portal. They charge you anywhere from $47 – $197 to essentially train you on how to sell products on eBay using a drop shipping service. This is where you list items for sale on eBay that you never actually have to buy, store, or ship.
You’re only responsible for the listing and marketing of the item- the drop shipper that you sign up with handles the rest. In the past these types of sites would recommend that you sign up with DOBA as your drop shipper but Home Internet Jobs suggests you work with a company called Shopster.
So How Does This Really Work?
The first issue with this opportunity is that they don’t tell you that you’re going to need to invest more money. When you go to Shopster to set up your ecommerce website chances are you’ll spend more money; there’s an option to create a free account but that only allows you to place 25 items in your online store.
Most people end up upgrading to one of the paid accounts to get access to more merchandise. The cost for paid plans ranges from $39.95 all the way up to $249.95 a month, depending on how many products and amenities you want your online store to have.
The other problem with Home Internet Jobs is that they make it seem that all you have to do to make money is list items on eBay. They even say that you’ll make $5 for every item you list. In reality you use your Shopster site to sell these items on eBay.
Any profit you make will be the difference between how much the item costs and what it sold for. On top of that, Shopster takes an additional 5% fee on all products sold. Considering the already low margins on eBay this definitely eats away at your profits.
So is Home Internet Jobs/Shopster a Scam?
First off, selling on eBay and the drop shipping industry are legitimate. It’s the way that they’re presented by Home Internet Jobs that raises some red flags. In all the years that Auction Listing has been around as a training program it has continually generated poor reviews and complaints from customers.
Even with this new program not much has changed; if you Google Shopster you’ll find posts on many consumer complaint sites from dissatisfied members. Many people claim that it’s very difficult to make money on Shopster because the so called wholesale prices are actually higher than many retail stores.
If this is true then you really have no shot at succeeding since people come to eBay specifically to look for good deals. If you do decide to pursue this business you can open the free account at Shopster just to check it out and hold off on purchasing the Home Internet Jobs course to save yourself money.
Update: As of 9/25/2010 Home Internet Jobs is also doing business as “Work at Home Training Institute,” while this is not proof that it’s a scam a company frequently changing names is a red flag.

I ordered the package in hopes of making an extra income from home because I am disabled, and am a single mom. I was guaranteed my money back if not satisfied. You guessed it. Have made many requests for my refund, but they don’t even answer your requests. You are just basically ignored. Don’t buy into this program, if you do, then you are also losing out just like me and others have. Their customer service rep told me I needed another $2000 to $3000 to invest in order to get help to start up. I don’t have it.

I really am disappointed in the work at home program with Kelly Andrews it was nothing like it was suppose to be. Then shopster wanting more money was even worse. I was lookin to make money not line their pockets. My husband is an over the road truck driver and I was looking for a second income so that he might be able to stay at home longer when he came in once a month. I was also putting down payment on our first home, well needless to say thats not happening anymore. Someone explain that to my seven yr old.

Hi, I probably paid way to much for a year of coaching to learn e-commerce and Internet Marketing. I dont have a clue about it …hardly not knowing what a blog is. I paid 2700 dollars for Robert Allens EWI program. Do you think that I paid way to much to learn the basics for what Im doing? Jeff Draper/Canada

Please people always research and investigate any business that you invest in because the scams that are on the internet out weighs the legitimate ones. If you have lost your money to one of these scams my advise to you is to call your bank, inform them of the fraud after the refund that the bank gives you close your account and then reopen another one.

I am trying to get out of this endeavor. My Husband wants the money back and does not want me working on the computer from home. I have talked with Justin once and had a voice mail from him. I left a voice mail back for him. I need to not get into this business endeavor. Please just send back my money and we can part friendly. I am sorry for thinking this was something I could get into.

I have also been scammed by these people. Money has been taken from my account even though it said transaction was declined because of address issues. They did respond via email and claim transaction was declined. I know the money has been taken out of my account. I questioned their system being a scam. Interesting customer service – here is their response:
PERHAPS ITS NOT A SCAM, PERHAPS IT IS THAT YOUR SEEING IT INCORRECTLY ON YOUR STATEMENT OR IT HAS NOT REFLECTED ON YOUR ACCOUNT AS OF YET.
THANK YOU,

While I cannot rate this program since I did not sign up for it I will tell you what I think. This is simply a company making money off people not knowing how to get the information themselves for free. That does not necessarily make them a scam. HOWEVER, if they are misrepresenting themselves when they do this then that is a problem. Don’t waste your money on them. Beware that these people will also hunt you down if you have a resume posted online.
You want to know where they are and who is behind it all? Here it is. This is the physical address of where they are registered. They operate several “businesses” from this address.

I’ve seen companies like this before. The address they’re at seems to be a mailbox store where people and companies can sign up for a mailbox similar to the Post Office but with a physical address. The mailbox businesses often have no way of knowing what their customers are up to with things like this.

I am just trying to cancel my subscription and get my money back.

I really can’t rate the program since after reading this I decided to decline the offer. I just wanted to let others know that if you try to close the window they will offer $10 off the price. If you go back to the page but try to close again they offer the program for $1. Probably not the most reliable site given that the price goes from $47 to $1.

I purchased the Auction Listing Agent program and there is no way you can make money with this program. I have been emailing them for my refund as they guarantee but the email they give from the merchant Dot Com Creations is not a good email address and they do not give a phone number. If anybody has a correct email address for this or a phone number please let me know and email me. This is a horrible program. You go through shopster and they do not have the best marketable products. Anyways you do not make money with this program. I need good information so I can get my refund back. Joyce Harrington

I’ve also tried Shopster. Been there for about 4 months now. I didn’t really have time to work on the free store that I got for the first two months, so it wasn’t surprising that I didn’t earn for those months. I finally started doing my categories, the content and adding products last month. I had my first sale after a week. It wasn’t much because I don’t really know how to price products yet. I got one more order this week. So I think it has potential. I’ve earned even if I didn’t spend anything.

I have setup an account even after reading some reviews, what I saw was reviews from over 2 yrs ago almost zero from the last 12 months. I spoke to both companies which are not the same company and got feedback. That said I thought a trial with shopster was worth it for only $40. I have been on it now for 2 weeks and I have made some money and find it could be a great tool to make some part time cash for me. It might not make me rich but I do not feel its a scam at all!
