Home Jobs for Citizens Reviews – Legit or Scam?

Home Jobs for Citizens is a new website and work at home opportunity released by Anthony Morrison.  Some people may know Anthony from his late night infomercials and popular books The Hidden Millionaire and Advertising Profits from Home.

He’s also made quite a name for himself on the seminar circuit speaking at large events and selling out large venues.  These are all credentials that Anthony Morrison lists on his Home Jobs for Citizens website in order to gain your trust; he also mentions many of his television appearances.

The more mainstream he appears the more customers are willing to try his latest products.  However, this new course is not actually his but a re-branding of a well known work at home product that’s been on the market for several years.

What is Home Jobs for Citizens?

The course shows people how to become what they call an “Auction Listing Agent” – a job that consists of simply listing products on sites like eBay.  Maybe some of you have heard about this opportunity through one of its former aliases.

  • Home Employment Agency – by Elizabeth Jackson
  • HomeJobPlacement.com – by Elizabeth Jackson
  • WorkatHomePositionPlacement.com – by Elizabeth Jackson
  • AuctionJobFinder.com – by Catherine Thomas
  • AuctionWorkatHome.com – by Cathy Banks
  • WorkatHomeRecruiters.com – by Emily Thomas
  • And many more now defunct sites…

The one thing that all these sites had in common, aside from claiming that auction listing is the latest and greatest work at home opportunity, is that they all generated tons of customer complaints on this site and many other consumer protection sites.

The problem with these older versions is that they made outrageous income claims and used deceptive advertising.  They claimed that all you had to do was simply list products, leaving out the fact that you needed to buy an additional membership with a specialized service called “drop shipping,” and the fact that you don’t get paid per listed item but per sale.

In Anthony Morrison’s version the hype is still there but it seems the opportunity is slightly better explained.  They still make it seem really easy to do and it appears that instead of directing you to a separate drop shipping service they’ve developed in-house software for selecting and posting items on eBay.

So is Home Jobs for Citizens a Scam?

No one can deny that people are making money on eBay but it’s definitely not as easy as these programs make it sound.  The main concern with these programs is that they keep saying that all you have to do is post the item on eBay and claim that you can make money without doing anything special.

The question then is: how do you make your listings stand out from the thousands of others?  Not to mention that you’ll be doing the exact same thing that the thousands of people who buy the Home Jobs for Citizens course will be doing.

As far as the course being a scam or not it’s hard to say since I have not had a chance to use their software.  Judging on reputation alone, the auction listing course has been through so many facelifts that it’s hard not to be skeptical.

Even having a big name like Anthony Morrison come aboard doesn’t change things since there are plenty of online complaints available for his own programs.  However, if you feel like this is something you want to try, Home Jobs for Citizens does come with a 90 day no questions asked money back guarantee.

This does ease some concerns about the course.  Unlike the past versions that were operated by faceless scammers, Anthony Morrison has a lot more to lose if he becomes known for not honoring his refund policies.

I called in to apply for a “rinse and repeat” job promising to pay $150 per day but got conned into signing up for a course with PMI for $1019 down and a loan of another $2550. For various reasons and problems, I did not take the course but could not get any help or cooperation from PMI to cancel the loan which I will not honor. I can live (poorly) with poor credit, but I do not like getting scammed by some one professing honesty.

This is a scam- as soon as you buy the book Professional Marketing International calls. They made it sound like anyone could do affiliate marketing. I lost way too much money to PMI plus money I lost running ads on different sites. Please stay away from them.

My boyfriend (IT specialist) and I did this for a very short time but it was NOT as easy as they said it would be, even for a guy who has been doing IT work for over 20 years! Out of all the products we posted to ebay (which WE had to pay to post), we only sold ONE product and the customer was furious because as small as the item was, they were NOT able to ship it to her home, for an unknown reason. I was rather ashamed of that and was not able to answer her question as to why the product was not able to be delivered to her home as requested. To top it off, we made very little money from that sale and actually paid more to post items on ebay, so we actually lost money and therefore, we got a refund.

Personally, I would not recommend doing this business if you cannot afford to also lose money posting on ebay.

As with any home based programs, be safe and check for reviews.

    Good luck!

These people are ruthless! Not even five minutes goes by and I get another e-mail from Karen Miller which is a fake name from Internet Job Locator. Same crap about making 75 dollars an hour by becoming a “Listing Agent”. The Formats are the same but a different story. Here’s the small print disclaimer I could hardly read.

*INCOME CLAIM WARNING: Testimonials are not typical of most results. Photographs or images are a depiction of individuals and payment methods. These income examples are representative of some of the most successful participants in the program. Some individuals purchasing the program may make little or NO MONEY AT ALL. These claims are not a guarantee of your income, nor are they typical of average participants. Individual results will vary greatly and in accordance to your input, determination, hard work, and ability to follow directions. No person or company can guarantee profits or freedom from loss. Any and all use of this website certifies you are agreeing to our Earnings and Income Disclaimers.

Now I can read it now! I like the part: Make little or NO MONEY AT ALL. The only phrase in CAPS. How do you people sleep at night! GOOD NIGHT!

Read everything about this e-mail from Tony. Be leary of working from home scams, especially ones that ask for money to make money. Do you really think someone is going to go through all the trouble of e-mailing all these people to be nice and show them an easy way to make money. If I knew a way to make money off of E-bay without doing any of the leg work. I definitely wouldn’t be e-mailing everyone and their brother. (BEWARE…)

You know, I think it’s pretty sad when someone takes advantage of the misfortune of others to make money…I believe they’re called “con men”. That’s what this guy strikes me as!! People just want to be able to put food on their kids’ tables, roofs over their heads and maybe, just maybe, every now & then maybe treat them to something a little extra. Most of us don’t want to become millionaires over night – we just want to make a decent living.

I read a “testimonial” from someone who is over the retirement age and is basically, broke and desperately needs some monthly income….like Tony Morrision’s dad supposedly was – what happens when he believes all this propaganda and loses even the $197 that he probably couldn’t afford!!??!! I’m 59 years old, have two small children I’m raising on my own, have been a stay-at-home mom for over 13 years.. No one will hire me because of my age and the huge gap in my work history!! What do people like us do??? He should be ashamed of himself for doing stuff like this. Thank goodness I always check these scam reports!!
If there is anyone who knows of a LEGITIMATE Way of making a decent income, without tons of education, from home on the Internet or just the computer, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE let those of us in this sinking boat know!! God Bless.

I just got off of the phone with the Fraud Department of my bank telling me that this company charged me $68.46 and I hadn’t accepted anything. I went onto the website and paid my $2.97 back on November 24th, and was very interested and wanted to do the business, but when I went back today, the website was different for some reason and took me to another business opportunity. When I received calls from my bank about Fraud, I called in and yep, this Anthony Morrison company took (or tried to take) $68.46 for what reason I do not know. I did not press any buttons to sign up for anything, in fact I was coming back to do that today, but they tried to steal from me. That is absolutely DREADFUL and I cannot believe that now I have to go through the trouble of being sent another credit card because they have frauded this one out (so-to-speak). I do not recommend people!

I have purchased the program and did the upgrades. The system is explained on a third or fourth grade level and is very easy to use. I’ve had no problems with the software and have even talked with a rep who has called me several times to help me with product launching questions and answers. I’ve placed about 75 items on ebay and have profited about $125 in the last week. I admit, its a little time consuming at first, but, once I played with the idea and do the research(like any job, research is the key concept)money can be made. I’m not trying to sell anyone on this product. I’ve read all the negative posts and have to say that it seems like a bunch of people want money for free. If your looking for a job, whether it be at home or going to a donut factory, they all require one thing…….WORK! So, to all the negative people out there, you seem to only want a hand out. And the fact that you have to pay for it is a little annoying, but, I think I smell some jealousy because none of you came up with the concept and decided to charge for it. With that in mind, go back to your 9 to 5ers and grind it out like a robot, I’ll stay at home and watch my children smile and play.

I just got an e-mail from about this business venture. I havn’t tried this program. It looks sort of shady to me, in the fact that you have to give someone money to make money. I did that stuff before on a different internet business venture and I’m no fool to do it again. This may or may not be a scam, but I’m being very careful. I don’t think I’m signing up for this business venture at this point.

Silly me! A well intentioned friend who knows I’m looking for work sent me a link to check out. I saw no mention of Anthony Morrison in the initial link. It asked for only $2.97 for a 5 day trial. Foolishly (never, never again!) I gave my card number for the 2.97. Anthony’s deal was the next thing in my email. I read (and read..) and then got confused as to whether or not these were the same work at home offers or not. That’s when I finally got a little clue and googled them both.

The one I paid for was The Direct Commerce Academy. They are definitely a scam and have taken many people. Now I see Morrison’s is too good to be true also. After blowing way too much time even considering this, I called and blocked my credit card and am having a new one issued. What a pain.. although I am glad I smartened up sooner than later. Now I wait a week for a credit card -which I could have used!!! live and learn! I just wonder how Morrison ended appearing on all the shows, etc…

    Email From Them:

Hello Eric,Earlier today, you came to our website and applied for a work-at-home job position as a Listing Agent. I’m sending you this email because I’d like to be the first to say…CONGRATULATIONS!!! We have reviewed your application and found you to be perfectly qualified for the job. As a result, we’ve gone ahead and secured a position for you in our program.

This means we have a number of U.S. companies (some are on the Fortune 500 list) who are eager and willing to partner with you the instant you sign-up. You don’t need any special skills, education, or experience to be successful. All you need is a computer with Internet access… and… the ability to follow very simple instructions.

What’s more, you don’t have to invest a lot of hours in order to make a substantial weekly income at this. In fact, if you can invest just one hour a day, you can expect to get paid up to $150 – and more if you can work additional hours. Plus, when you do get started today, you can begin getting paid your first paycheck within the next 7-days. This is especially great news if you have money problems and need a safe and secure way to make extra cash – fast.

To get started immediately, all you have to do is follow the link below and complete your enrollment…But please understand: With so many people unemployed and in debt these days, available positions for these jobs are in HUGE demand. As a result, we can only keep your position available for 7-days. This means if you do not complete your enrollment right now, your position may be given to the next applicant on our list.

And that would mean your opportunity to work from home, be your own boss, get paid up to $150 per day, get out of debt, and live your life with more security and freedom, would be gone forever. Don’t let that happen. Take my advice: don’t delay another second. This position is already being held for you. Go right now and complete your enrollment…

Here’s to your success in this new career.
    Kindest Regards, Anthony Morrison

I received Anthony’s e-mail recently and followed the link to the web site. I spent WAY too much time reading it, knowing it was a SCAM from the start. I wondered why the Better Business Business Bureau would permit him to display their logo on his web site? I went to the BBB on line and did a search for “Home Jobs for Citizens” and found that their accreditation was suspended on Nov 4, 2010, “due to failure to cooperate with the BBB on advertising matters and engaging in activities reflecting poorly on the BBB or its members.” That says it all. Too good to be true. DO NOT SEND TONY ANY MONEY! That’s the real secret to his money making idea. Scamming desperate people!

I got the email yesterday for home jobs for citizens. I went to the site and was admittedly hooked, but in the back of my head I could hear my dad saying; “If it sounds to good to be true, it is” so I filled out the paper work and once I got to the amount I backed out of the site, 15min later the phone rings, it’s a rep of anthony’s company and I tell him I don’t have a 197.00 he offers the program to me for 129.00. The rep is due to call me today. But however, I wanted to know more about this Anthony fellow so i did a bbb check on him and the company refused to offer to bbb at least 10 names and phone numbers of customers that have made at least 150 a day. Go and check them out with the bbb yourself..But I have come to the resolve that Mr. Anthony is full of crap!!!And times are hard right now I can’t afford to get scammed out of 129.00 just my take on it!!very disappointed though

I got the e-mail from Anthony, and it told how posting ads for companies saved his father’s home and sent his brother and sister to college. While doing some research I ran across a web site claiming another program by Anthony was a scam … and both Anthony and his brother were responding to the allegations. It was convincing until they both claimed that the program soliciting for credit card agencies (how-to seminar requesting $3995 for the kit to do it) is what put the brother though college and saved his family in hardship.

Okay — its not hard to deduce that BOTH programs could not be the sole income source that was so wonderful, one that Anthony could help his family save their home, and put his brother and sister through college. I think he screwed up by making the same claim for both programs.

Why might he be promoting two totally different programs if one works so great? And, why do people responding to questions about both of them say he is scamming folks, and complaining that the information purchased for the programs doesn’t work at all? I found it all interesting and believe he is trying several different ways to scam us.

Why is the fraud going on, I been ripped off for more than 197.00 dollars, I spent over six grand on a website business before and never reined a dime, never again. I tried to do a dispute on my cards. I complained about the company to the better business bureau , they dont care either. how are we supposed to make a living from home without getting ripped off.Too many scams. The advertisement of Anthony sounded amazing, somewhat too good to be true. But looking at his lengthy explanation, photos, his story, and advertising even his father, I thought to check out for the guys who had a say on it. I checked out but no guy seems to know the reality. I am not the kind who calls a program ‘scam’ without a proof. It’s not fair to call something scam on the basis of what you think, (even though it may be a scam) unless you have a proof or experience of it. Is there anyone who is making the promised amount?

I always ask myself first, is it to good to be true. That usually makes me wait and let the “NEW CAR SMELL” go away.
Now they do offer a money back guarantee but who wants to chance it. How about this Anthony, make it free of charge for 60 days and if we make a $1000.00 with in the first 60 we pay you the $200. What really made me wait was when I tried to back out on the website at the point of inputting my c.c. # the supposebly “$197.00 best price is all I can do” that Anthony mentions on the video, a pop-up comes on the screen saying something like act now and we will discount it $20.00 tried to back out of that and another pop-up comes stating “I have just been authorized to offer you $40.00 off” What happened to the best I can do price mentioned earlier. That is, in my book, a bit of a SCAM.

Hello Everybody, and if you can read this Hello you too Anthony,
I can’t believe this system, not that it doesn’t work. It has worked for centuries. It’s selling, sugar coated and it looks yummy to those of us that are in need and hungry, but now at days you have to first pay Anthony or Jessica or Ryan or Mr Millionaire or what ever they call themselves. If this was soo hidden. Why! is it hidden? There are some originals like Dexter Yeagar, founder of Amway or Sam Walmart who started his empire with hola-hoops and off-course Colonel Sanders to name a few. These guys are millionaires, and they did things from their heart, but they didn’t pay an “Anthony” to get started. Mr Yeager and Mr Walmart and the Colonel at one time were hurting just like a lot of us. They got out of their mess because they believed in themselves. If your gonna do this good for you, I’m glad ole Anthony is doing good, as for myself, this is Ebay and I can go sell my own products… on Ebay.
Sorry Anthony, you didn’t get me this time. Oh and please stop sending me these *%!~@” email offers.

i just got off of the website contemplating to spend the $200 (or $197 to be technical) that they ask to get started. I really like to see that it really isn’t as easy as ‘ol anthony says it is, but what i really would like to see is somebody that really used their software and failed miserably or excelled fantastically. All i really witnessed was everybody saying that they really don’t know if he’s a fake or not…so here’s an idea…how about everybody send me just enough to start the program and i’ll post it how it really works. LOL. JK. But i would really like to know exactly how it works cause it just briefly tells you how it works and then asks for your checkbook so that’s why i think it’s just one big scam because if it was for real one would think that the word would travel a lot quicker than it is right now.

I’m 27 years old and just happen to trip upon it when i was going through my email and i’m just now hearing about it. You would think everybody would just quit their job and work from home earning twice the amount than the average Joe (you would think). There would be no restaurants, no retail stores, it would definitely put walmart out of business (and i don’t think that could ever happen). It would take down everything in its path. That’s why i think it very well could be a pyramid scam or ponsi scheme. Well please if somebody actually used this program and made lots of $ please post their comments here. Thanks for your time. I got fooled by him once, and almost fell for this same program before, but with someone else’s name on it,”Thankful for ClickBank for quick refund” If you ever saw his infomercial for “Advertise Profits from Home” you’ll ask yourself, how many programs does he have where every one he’s bailing out his Father, or someone else. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from anything that has Tony’s name attatched.

I have received five emails supposedly from Anthony to get me to enlist in the program. I have sent an email to him in reply using his email address. I have gotten no response. I sent the email several times. I know the email reached its destination because my email program did not indicate that the email was not deliverable.

Another thing about this. The pitch is good, but I don’t know in the advertisement just when the guy created the ad. I have checked the ad several days. The date changes but everything else is the same. He could have had this ad on the Internet for years.

This is why I am cautious. I know there is a refund coming if one requests one. I don’t know, though, how difficult it would be to get the money back.

I actually called the 1800 number and got a real person but was still suspicious about it. I have not signed up, I do not have the money to waste to even attempt it.

I was looking into this Home Jobs for Citizens.org. I cannot say this is or not a scam – but as I was trying to navigate off of the website…on came on the chat window to offer me an instant 20$ discount if I sing up “now”. I politely turned it down. Then, I tried to navigate away from that chat window, it tried to offer me a $40 discount if I signed up right away. I again turned it down, after a hassle while I was interracting with an individual. Those guys must be desperate or something. I wander what 300,000 products they have to offer to sell on E-Bay. I guess I can’t see, until I put down this money…. I have yet to nibble to their bait.

The sales letter differs from reality at several points.
I am giving it an honest trial but I have not been able to contact them for the promised help. The online chats were nice enough but they could not help me as much as I needed. There seems to be a “bug” in the quick upload to ebay program and today even the chat line was offline. I am still struggling to get the first listing done. I will have to wait awhile for a complete evaluation but I can tell you that it is not as easy as they promise in the course.

We received an e-mail from Home Jobs for Citizens and I’m just trying to check them out before my husband makes a decision. If you have other avenues that are less questionable or have higher ratings we would be interested. My husband has developed health problems and is no longer employed, has no insurance, and my check is not going to support 4 of us.

    Thanks, Janice
