About Green Kid Crafts
GreenKidCrafts.com is the online home of Green Kid Crafts, a new monthly subscription service designed to help “raise the next generation of creative leaders” through science, math, and artistic activities.
How Does It Work?
According to their website, Green Kid Crafts was created by a working mom and environmental scientist who wanted to teach children how important it is to exercise creativity, develop a love of discovery, and learn about the world around them.
Their boxes have been developed by teachers, moms, and STEAM experts (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to support key developmental skills for kids ages 3-10. All products have craft projects that “activate thinking, questioning, inquiring, and original creation” and all kits meet their “Happy & Healthy Child criteria.”
This criteria ensures that all children who spend time on their projects and activities will do the following: Create something they are proud of, move their body, use their thinking brain, discover the world around them, and care for themselves, others, and the planet.
In addition, this company strives to have as little impact on the environment as possible, including off setting 100% of their produced carbon dioxide; using 100% recycled boxes, labels, and envelopes; minimizing all packaging and printing; bundling materials with plant-based, compostable bags; avoiding all craft foams and plastics; and integrating eco-awareness into their box themes as much as possible. They also donate at least 1% of sales to environmental organizations.
The company offers four different subscriptions at this time. Paying for your subscription month-to-month will cost $19.95 per month, while a three month subscription is priced the same but is paid for quarterly throughout the year. A six month subscription is priced at $18.95 per month, and their year-long subscription is priced at $17.95 per month.
Customers are also welcome to purchase gift subscriptions as well as individual kits, and all prices are clearly displayed on their website while you are shopping.
Their Discovery Boxes, Creativity and Science Kits, and Party Favors are not returnable, however if any materials included in your box are damaged or defective, they ask that you contact them right away so they can replace those items for you.
If you cancel your box after you have ordered it, or if your Discovery Box is returned to them for any reason, they will charge you a $10.00 restocking and processing fee. And unfortunately, they do not allow for any returns on gift subscriptions, prepaid subscriptions, or digital subscriptions.

Green Kid Crafts appears to be really well liked by both parents and the kids who are doing the activities. Each box includes three or four projects that incorporate different skills and lessons, and appears to offer good variety to the kids working on the projects so they are willing to stay engaged the entire time.
Competitors and Alternatives?
There are other monthly box subscriptions similar to this one that are being aimed at children, children’s experiences, and learning, including the Bluum Box, Kiwi Crate, Citrus Lane, and there will certainly be more in the near future for children of all ages and all needs.
