How Does It Work?

According to their website, the engineers and designers at Trim have been working to build an AI assistant that automatically takes care of your financial life for you, in a few different and important ways. 

First the Trip App will go through your current and active accounts and subscriptions to see which ones you are using and wish to maintain, and which accounts you’d prefer to cancel in order to save on your monthly expenses. They will even cancel your unwanted accounts for you. 

They will also help you determine whether or not your other existing accounts could be negotiated to lower payments, including insurance, cable, and others, and they can also provide advice on your new financial questions, like what new credit card will work best for your needs. 

Their website says that to date they have currently helped people save more than $8,000,000 and their customers can get initial recommendations in less than one minute. 

Cost/Price Plans

The Trim App is actually free of charge for customers to use at this time. If they do find a bill that they have the ability to lower on your behalf and then successfully lower it for you, they will take a percentage of what they have been able to successfully save you. Beyond that, this website says that they earn money from being compensated by third-party partners, such as credit card issuers, for their role in referring new customers to their services.

Because this mobile application does not charge their users any fees to download their app or to use their services at this time, they also do not provide their customers with any form of a standard or traditional Refund Policy. If you believe that something has been done with your account that you don’t agree with, you will need to contact their Customer Service team as soon as possible to ensure that your concerns are addressed.

This app appears to be well liked by financial websites and individual reviewers at this time, as almost everyone has discovered at one time or another that they have forgotten about a subscription for which they are being charged but aren’t really taking advantage of. In addition, because this service is free to use, there really isn’t any harm in customers deciding to try it for themselves.

Total scam!!!!

Trim states that a chat bot will identify companies and subscriptions to services than can be negotiated for lower prices. What I found is that a human being falls into the comlany they are trying to negotiate with pretending to be me.

This happened to me today. They contacted my cable company, saying it was me that was calling and changed my cable service package without my permission. If my cable company had not sent me an email confirming the change, I never would have known until the new equipment arrived in the mail.

Their customer service is non existent. Their FB messenger is run by an automated bot that has no idea how to answer any questions. Repeated emails to their customer service department have gone unanswered. Do not give this company access to your bank account information. I have canceled my account but I will be watching my bank account like a hawk to make sure they do not charge me the 33% of the “discount” they got me for my cable service. Thankfully I was able to cancel their changes and my service is restored to what I originally had.
